Sept 9th 23rd Sunday in ordinary time.
Almighty God, Your plan of salvation started with the birth of
the "new ark of the covenent", Mary, our mother, that the
church celebrates this week.
Jesus, Your son, needed a pure vessel in which to be born
into, and so You chose Mary, and she accepted and so
became the mother of Jesus.
How blessed we are to have such a woman of love who
constantly intercedes for us always.
Thank You, Father, for Your perfect plan which worked out
in and through Jesus, who died on the cross that we might
have life everlasting.
Thank You for loving us always.
Thank You Jesus.
Amen and Amen.
Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

Sunday THE CROWD OF DISOBEDIENCE

"Jesus took him off by himself away from the crowd." -Mark 7:33
Jesus excluded the crowd from witnessing the healing of a deaf and dumb man. When the crowd
recognized that the man had been healed, Jesus "enjoined them strictly not to tell anyone;
but the more He ordered them not to, the more they proclaimed it" (Mk 7:36). Although the
deaf and dumb man had been transformed, the crowd was not. It was still spiritually deaf
because it would not listen to Jesus. Since it did not listen to Jesus, it was spiritually
dumb in that it could not effectively communicate the gospel.
Many Christians remain in the crowd. We have closed our ears to Jesus. We are disobedient.
We don't witness for Jesus when, where, and how He tells us. Even when we do speak up for
Jesus, we don't say what He tells us. We "water down" the gospel to make it more and more
palatable to a lukewarm, secularized "Christianity." Because our ears are not open to
Jesus, we, like the crowd, are ineffective in communicating the gospel even if we open our
mouths.
Jesus wants to put His holy fingers into your ears, sighing: " 'Ephphatha!' (that is, 'Be
opened!')" (Mk 7:34) Invite Jesus to be the Lord of your hearing and speaking.
Prayer: Prayer: Father, I repent. Through disobedience, may I not be crowded out from Your
works. Give me "ears open to obedience" (Ps 40:7).
Promise: "Then will the eyes of the blind be opened, the ears of the deaf be cleared; then
will the lame leap like a stag, then the tongue of the dumb will sing." -Is 35:5-6
Praise: Praise You, Jesus, Healer, Savior, and Redeemer! Praise You for opening our ears
to hear Your good news.

plan, except for her Son, the God-Man, Jesus. Others think that by honoring Mary we
take away from the worship of Jesus. However, Catholics and the Orthodox say Mary
will lead a person to Jesus, just as all good Christians try to lead their friends
to the Lord. After all, Mary's last recorded words in the Bible were: "Do whatever
He (Jesus) tells you" (Jn 2:5). What is Mary's part in God's plan? Does she mother,
minister, and intercede today?

Please please pray that my husband may be freed from the lustful and emotional bondage he
has been in with a work colleague over the past 16 years. Pray that the woman in question
may be removed from his life and that our marriage of 24 years and the peace and love we
enjoyed before she came into his life may be restored. Pray that he may return to the
church and that our children may be saved from the agony of a divorce.

Local Numbers Double Practically Overnight!
The Bible Telephone Line (BTL) has been in operation for 19 years. Begun by Fr. Al
in 1991, it now continues with three teachers trained by him and by Presentation
Ministries. In cities where local numbers have been established, the BTL provides
callers with a short teaching on the readings for the daily Mass. It is available 24
hours a day and 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a short prayer request which
will be shared on the line with the other callers the next day.
