A "GOOD" 72 HOURS
"Then [Jesus] bowed His head, and delivered over His Spirit." -John 19:30
The Triduum is not made up of several services scheduled over a period of three days, but it is one 72-hour service made up of several parts. Today we are in the first third of the service.
Cherish every moment of this most sacred time. "Stay sober and alert. Your opponent the devil is prowling like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, solid in your faith, realizing that the brotherhood of believers is undergoing the same sufferings throughout the world" (1 Pt 5:8-9). "Fix your eyes on Jesus" crucified (see Heb 3:1). Venerate the cross, and in your heart stay at the foot of the cross with the three Marys (Jn 19:25). With Mary, the mother of God, treasure "all these things" and reflect on them in your heart (see Lk 2:19). The Lord in His mercy is leading us into the mystery of "the breadth and length and height and depth" of His love (Eph 3:18).
This Friday is the only day of the year which the Church calls "good." It is "good" because on this day we remember that Jesus loves us so much that He died to save us. This day will be "good" if we decide to give our lives totally to the One Who gave His life for us. Carry the cross with Jesus; deny yourself (Lk 9:23); live for Jesus alone; let Good Friday be "good."
Prayer: Jesus, I accept You as Lord, Savior, and God - on your terms, not mine. Do with me as You will.
Promise: "So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and favor and to find help in time of need." -Heb 4:16
Praise: (none)

LIVING TO EAT, AND EATING TO LIVE
"I received from the Lord what I handed on to you, namely, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which He was betrayed took bread, and after He had given thanks, broke it and said, 'This is My body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.' " -1 Corinthians 11:23-24
Why did the Lord create us so that we would have to eat? Angels were not created so that they have to eat. Plants don't eat other plants or animals. Why were human beings created so that they must eat?
When the Lord created human beings, He gave us fruits and vegetables to eat (Gn 1:29). In Noah's time, He also gave us animals to eat (Gn 9:3). However, we were never to eat blood, for life was in the blood, and life belongs to God (Gn 9:4). In the new covenant, the Lord has done the unthinkable. He gave us His own flesh and blood as our food. As eating the forbidden fruit brought sin and death into our human nature, so eating the Body and Blood of Jesus gives us freedom and life (1 Cor 11:24-25). Jesus promised: "He who feeds on My flesh and drinks My blood has life eternal, and I will raise him up on the last day. For My flesh is real food and My blood real drink" (Jn 6:54-55).
Why did Jesus create us so that we need food? He did this so that He could be our Food. He humbled and emptied Himself to become the Bread of Life so that no one who comes to Him shall ever be hungry, and no one who believes in Him will ever thirst (Jn 6:35). Live to eat the Body and Blood of Jesus. Eat to live in Him forever (Jn 6:56).
Prayer: Jesus, I take You at Your word. I will try to receive You in Holy Communion daily or as often as possible for the rest of my life.
Promise: "You must wash each other's feet. What I just did was to give you an example: as I have done, so you must do." -Jn 13:14-15
Praise: Receiving the Eucharist is the high point of Elizabeth's day.

HIS SUFFERING SAVES US - One Bread, One Body, 3/28/2018

HIS SUFFERING SAVES US
"I gave My back to those who beat Me." -Isaiah 50:6
I have a son who is a young adult who suffers from back and sciatic pain. He has had to undergo two back surgeries. I hurt to see him suffer. I gladly pay for him to receive treatment and surgeries that may help relieve his suffering. I pray each day for his healing. I could not imagine willingly bringing suffering on my son. Yet Jesus offered His own back for our salvation (Is 50:6).
Reading in the Scriptures that God, Who loved His only-begotten Son Jesus far more than I love my son, would hand Jesus over to suffer agony to save sinful humanity (Jn 3:16), a human race who would reject and crucify Him, is to read about a love far beyond any love I can imagine. God's love is so far above my love - as far as the heavens are above the earth (Is 55:8-9).
Then at Mass this morning I hear the words of this Son: " 'This is My body, to be given up for you' (see Mt 26:26). 'This is the chalice of My blood, which will be poured out for you, for the forgiveness of sin' " (see Mt 26:28). Though I have been attending Mass daily for decades, I realize I still do not comprehend how much God loves humanity - how much He loves me and you.
All that remains is to receive His love and respond to it by offering Him our heart, mind, soul, strength, and life in return (Ps 116:12-13; Lk 10:27).
Prayer: Jesus, I love You so much. I offer You my life for the salvation of many souls.
Promise: "See, the Lord God is my Help." -Is 50:9
Praise: Contemplating the crucifix, Mark realized how little he understood God's love for him. He regularly prays before a crucifix as a way of growing in the love of Jesus.

YOUR LAST COMMUNION
"He dipped the morsel, then took it and gave it to Judas, son of Simon Iscariot." -John 13:26
At Saturday's Easter Vigil and in the next two months, many people, especially children, will be celebrating their First Communions. This will be the first time they receive the Body and Blood, soul and divinity of Jesus. These First Communions will be among the greatest events in their lives.
Yet what about your last Communion? Will it rightly be called "Viaticum," meaning "on the way with Jesus" to heaven? Or will it be like the Last Supper when Jesus gave "the bit of food" to Judas (Jn 13:26)? "Immediately after, Satan entered his heart" (Jn 13:27). Will your last Communion be months or years before your death, or moments before your death and entry into heaven? Is Communion "kid's stuff" for you, or the center and heartbeat of your daily life?
In two days, we will celebrate throughout the world Holy Thursday, the day of the first Communion of all time. Make a new first Communion on Holy Thursday - the first time you've ever loved the Lord so much. If you continue and grow in the first love (see Rv 2:4) of this new first Communion, your last Communion will be a Holy Communion of love leading to heaven.
Prayer: Father, may my Communions this Holy Week be more holy and continue to become holier.
Promise: "Though I thought I had toiled in vain, and for nothing, uselessly, spent my strength, yet my reward is with the Lord, my recompense is with my God." -Is 49:4
Praise: John makes a point to go to Confession during Holy Week.
(Do you have wounds in your heart that are in need of healing? Turn to Christ and receive his love and mercy. Call 513-373-2397 or 937-587-5464 or visit www.presentationministries.com to register or for more information on a retreat called "Healing and Deliverance" coming up soon.)

DYING YOU DESTROYED OUR DEATH
"Many Jews were going over to Jesus and believing in Him on account of Lazarus." -John 12:11
Jesus' death saved Lazarus from dying. Once Jesus was killed by crucifixion, there was no longer any need for the chief priests to kill Lazarus as well (see Jn 12:10). Jesus then died in Lazarus' stead.
Jesus' death saved Barabbas from dying. When Jesus was condemned to death, Barabbas was set free (Mt 27:20ff). Jesus died in Barabbas' place.
Jesus' death can likewise save us from dying, if we allow Him to die in our place. Jesus loved us so much that He chose to freely suffer and die so that we could be set free (Rm 6:4). Once Jesus died, there is no need for us to suffer the eternal consequences of our sins.
Accept Jesus' death for your own salvation. Believe in His saving power. Believe that Jesus loved you so much that He has atoned for every sin you ever committed. Believe in the mercy of God, that He never tires of forgiving you, and that He desires greatly for you to be set free and spend eternity with Him in heaven.
Prayer: Jesus, may Your death never be in vain for me (Gal 2:21). I offer You my heart in love. Use me as You will.
Promise: "I, the Lord, have called you for the victory of justice, I have grasped you by the hand; I formed you, and set you as a covenant of the people, a light for the nations." -Is 42:6
Praise: When asked why she never remarried, Sally proclaims Jesus as her Spouse. She quotes this Scripture as God's new calling for her life: "The reproach of your widowhood no longer remember. For He Who has become your husband is your Maker; His name is the Lord of hosts" (Is 54:4-5).

PM eNewsletter Passion (Palm) Sunday
March 25th Passion (Palm) Sunday
Merciful God, Your love for us goes beyond measure.
It is really, very, very hard for us to truly understand the love that You have for us.
A love that led You to the cross, so that we might be saved, and have eternal life.
Jesus, we all caused Your agony, and pain, and yet You forgave us.
Your love cannot be measured.
Jesus, grace us to love all, as You love.
Jesus, grace us to forgive all, as You have forgiven us.
Grant us the desire to come and sit before Your crucifix, and truly spend time in seeing Your
love for us hanging on the cross.
Let us be amazed and humbled, help us to get to the Sacrament of reconciliation, and so enter
into Easter free of the stain of humanity's sins.
Amen and Amen.
Thank You Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body
This weeks readings and reflections
Sunday DRIVEN BY CRUCIFIED LOVE
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?lang=en&d=3/25/2018
"Then Jesus, uttering a loud cry, breathed His last." -Mark 15:37
Happy Holy Week! May this be one of the greatest weeks of the greatest year of your life. In one
week, in every Catholic church in the world, at every Mass on the first day of the Easter season,
we will be challenged to make the greatest act of faith and love in our lives by renewing our
baptismal promises. We will be invited to give our lives totally to the Father, the Son, and the
Holy Spirit and thereby reject Satan, all his works, and all his empty promises.
Why would we make such a radical commitment which would result in losing our lives? (Lk 9:24) We
make or renew our baptismal promises only because of love (see 2 Cor 5:14). We decide to lose our
lives only because of the love of Jesus, Who lost His life for us on the cross. Therefore, the
Church calls us to read about Jesus' Passion and death in today's liturgy. As we "behold the
wondrous cross on which the Prince of glory died," our richest gain we "count but loss and pour
contempt" on all our pride. "There is no greater love than this: to lay down one's life for one's
friends" (Jn 15:13).
Driven by crucified love, let us make the greatest decision of our lives and renew our baptismal
promises.
Prayer: Jesus, as many people threw their cloaks and palms before You entering Jerusalem, I throw
myself at Your feet (see Mk 11:8).
Promise: "At Jesus' name every knee must bend in the heavens, on the earth, and under the earth,
and every tongue proclaim to the glory of God the Father: JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!" -Phil 2:10-11
Praise: "Blessed is the reign of our father David to come! Hosanna in the highest!" (Mk 11:10)

Notable quotations from Pope Francis and official teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
GOD'S CALL TO JOY
LISTEN, DISCERN, LIVE
In the diversity and the uniqueness of each and every vocation, personal and ecclesial, there is a
need to listen, discern and live this word that calls to us from on high and, while enabling us to
develop our talents, makes us instruments of salvation in the world and guides us to full happiness.
THE TIME IS NOW
Vocation is today! The Christian mission is now! Each one of us is called -whether to the lay life
in marriage, to the priestly life in the ordained ministry, or to a life of special consecration
- in order to become a witness of the Lord, here and now.
"HAVE NO FEAR!"
If He [Jesus] lets us realize that He is calling us to consecrate ourselves totally to His kingdom,
then we should have no fear! It is beautiful - and a great grace - to be completely and forever
consecrated to God and the service of our brothers and sisters.

As we "behold the wondrous cross on which the Prince of glory died," our richest gain we "count but loss and pour contempt" on all our pride. "There is no greater love than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends" (Jn 15:13).
Driven by crucified love, let us make the greatest decision of our lives and renew our baptismal promises.
Prayer: Jesus, as many people threw their cloaks and palms before You entering Jerusalem, I throw myself at Your feet (see Mk 11:8).
Promise: "At Jesus' name every knee must bend in the heavens, on the earth, and under the earth, and every tongue proclaim to the glory of God the Father: JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!" -Phil 2:10-11
Praise: "Blessed is the reign of our father David to come! Hosanna in the highest!" (Mk 11:10)

BACKFIRED
"If we let Him go on like this, the whole world will believe in Him." -John 11:48
The chief priests, the Pharisees, and the Sanhedrin were led by Caiaphas, the high priest, to consider it necessary to put Jesus to death (Jn 11:50). Otherwise, they feared the Romans would be threatened by Jesus' popularity, and they would sweep away the Jewish sanctuary and nation (Jn 11:48). Forty years after they had killed Jesus to solve their "problem," the Romans nonetheless swept away their sanctuary and nation. Their godless plan backfired.
When we sin by rejecting Jesus to gain or avoid something, we will find that "the wages of sin is death" (Rm 6:23). When we sin to get more pleasure, we may get sick or even damn ourselves. When we sin to avoid taking up our crosses, we find ourselves feeling cross, lost, and empty. Jesus said: "Whoever would save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. What profit does he show who gains the whole world and destroys himself in the process?" (Lk 9:24-25)
Therefore, let us not reject Jesus. Rather, let us reject anything that leads us away from Him. May each of us say: "Those things I used to consider gain I have now reappraised as loss in the light of Christ. I have come to rate all as loss in the light of the surpassing knowledge of my Lord Jesus Christ. For His sake I have forfeited everything; I have accounted all else rubbish so that Christ may be my Wealth" (Phil 3:7-8). Don't crucify Jesus (see Heb 6:6); be crucified with Jesus (Gal 2:19).
Prayer: Jesus, the only Way (Jn 14:6), have Your way in my life.
Promise: "The nations shall know that it is I, the Lord, Who make Israel holy, when My sanctuary shall be set up among them forever." -Ez 37:28
Praise: William left the Church, angry with God. After a long absence, he returned to the Sacraments humble, docile, and hungry for the Lord.

THE SEASON FOR SPIRITUAL WARFARE - One Bread, One Body, 3/23/2018

Jeremiah 20:10-13, Psalm 18:2-7, John 10:31-42

THE SEASON FOR SPIRITUAL WARFARE
"I hear the whisperings of many." -Jeremiah 20:10
Because Holy Week, the Triduum, the Easter octave, the Easter season, and Pentecost are tremendous opportunities to grow in holiness, Satan will try to rob us of these special days with the Lord. Satan is well aware that we have been planning for some time to reject him, all his works, and all his empty promises at Easter. Satan wants to make us his slaves through sin and make a mockery of the renewal of our baptismal promises. He wants to ruin Holy Week, Easter, and life for each of us.
To manipulate us into being his pawns, he will put more pressure on us. Our friends may denounce us (Jer 20:10), try to trap us (Jer 20:10), and persecute us (Jer 20:11). We will carry the cross with Jesus (Lk 9:23) and be crucified with Him (Gal 2:19). This can backfire on Satan by making us closer to Jesus as we share in His sufferings (see Phil 3:10). Alternatively, through our selfishness and fear, we can succumb to Satan's bribes and intimidation.
"Therefore submit to God; resist the devil and he will take flight. Draw close to God, and He will draw close to you" (Jas 4:7-8). "Stay sober and alert. Your opponent the devil is prowling like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, solid in your faith, realizing that the brotherhood of believers is undergoing the same sufferings throughout the world" (1 Pt 5:8-9).
Prayer: Father, I cast my cares on You, for You care about me (1 Pt 5:7).
Promise: "In that place, many came to believe in Him." -Jn 10:42
Praise: St. Toribio's unflagging zeal to the poor of Peru led to countless numbers of Indians being baptized, receiving ministry, and growing in their Catholic faith.
(For related teaching, order our book, "Conversion-Conversations".)

"IMPELLED BY LOVE" (SEE 2 COR 5:14)
"Whom do You make Yourself out to be?" -John 8:53
Imagine that you are a present-day medical doctor transported back in time a thousand years. Impelled by love for the suffering people of the time, you use your knowledge to cure many people of malaria, smallpox, and other diseases. Your reputation as a healer spreads rapidly. Local doctors, spurred by jealousy, attack you viciously. Though you try your best to reveal the modern medical truth about sterility, hygiene, etc., these doctors angrily contest your every word. They ask you: "Whom do you make yourself out to be?" (Jn 8:53) Before long, they put you to death.
Jesus loved us so much that He allowed Himself to be transported into time and space to save a lost and dying world. Like the doctor above, He did not withhold the saving, healing truth from the people He loved. In the Gospel of John, Jesus continually reveals to us His relationship with the Father, from which flows everything He does (see Jn 8:38). Jesus knows that when we understand His relationship with the Father, we will respect and be true to His words, and have eternal life (Jn 8:51). Jesus' love impels Him to speak the truth, even to proclaim the truth that He is God (Jn 8:58). Sadly, a jealous and hard-hearted people then "put to death the Author of Life" (Acts 3:15).
"It is precisely in this that God proves His love for us: that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Rm 5:8). Let us "not treat God's gracious gift as pointless" (Gal 2:21). Listen intently to the words of Jesus. He is God. He reveals to us what we could never know on our own. Be as hungry for Jesus' words as a dying person is for words of healing.
Prayer: Father, make me "humble of heart" as Jesus is (Mt 11:29).
Promise: "Look to the Lord in His strength; seek to serve Him constantly." -Ps 105:4
Praise: Jesus healed young Larry of asthma.

BE FREED FOR SLAVERY
"Never have we been slaves to anyone. What do You mean by saying, 'You will be free'?" -John 8:33
Jesus said: "I give you My assurance, everyone who lives in sin is the slave of sin" (Jn 8:34). Everyone who sins is a slave. Even everyone in debt is a slave, for "the borrower is the slave of the lender" (Prv 22:7). Therefore, the world is full of slaves.
However, slaves can be freed from slavery to sin and the world by offering themselves to Christ to become slaves of justice (Rm 6:18). "That is why, if the Son frees you, you will really be free" (Jn 8:36).
It is impossible for human beings to be freed from slavery, but we can be freed from the slavery of impurity, licentiousness, and degradation (Rm 6:19), and for the slavery of justice and sanctification, which leads to eternal life (Rm 6:19, 22).
Whose slave will you be? Slavery is degrading, dehumanizing, and self-destructive. Nevertheless, there is one exception to this. Slavery to Jesus is upbuilding, divinizing (see 2 Pt 1:4), and glorifying. Be freed for slavery. "Be slaves of Christ the Lord" (Col 3:24).
Prayer: Father, may I believe in You, abide in Your Word, be a disciple of Jesus, know the truth, and then be free (Jn 8:31-32) to be Your slave.
Promise: "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, Who sent His angel to deliver the servants that trusted in Him; they disobeyed the royal command and yielded their bodies rather than serve or worship any god except their own God." -Dn 3:95
Praise: Thomas joined an order to become a missionary priest. He longed to bring the good news of Jesus to those far off.

God's people complained about the manna He freely gave them daily for years. Although the Lord had freed the whole nation from slavery to Egypt, they complained against the Lord and Moses (Nm 21:5, 7). "In punishment the Lord sent among the people saraph serpents, which bit the people so that many of them died" (Nm 21:6). The Lord loves us too much to condone our selfish ungratefulness. We either repent or die in our sins of thanklessness (see Jn 8:21, 24). If we choose to remain ungrateful, we will exist forever in a hell of selfishness and complaining.
In hell, the words "thank you" have never been said. If there would ever be a good day in hell, the residents would automatically complain about it so much that it becomes a "hell of a day." In hell, everyone is claiming to be God; so everyone else is a false god to be dethroned and smashed. People die from complaining, but their complaining doesn't die. It persists forever to make hell that much more hellish.
Our addiction to self constantly spews out complaints while choking off gratitude. How can we kick this addiction? Jesus, Whose name means "Savior," alone can save us from self-destruction (see Rm 7:24-25). Believe in Jesus. He said: "You will surely die in your sins unless you come to believe that I AM" (Jn 8:24).
Prayer: Father, "I'm forever grateful to You. I'm forever grateful for the cross."
Promise: "When you lift up the Son of Man, you will come to realize that I AM and that I do nothing by Myself. I say only what the Father has taught Me. The One Who sent Me is with Me. He has not deserted Me since I always do what pleases Him." -Jn 8:28-29
Praise: When Joan became a young widow with small children, she was lost and did not know what to do. It was trust in the Lord that pulled her through. "Fear is useless. What is needed is trust" (Mk 5:36).

JOSEPH: AN UPWARDLY MOBILE MAN
"[Joseph] did as the angel of the Lord had directed him." -Matthew 1:24
St. Joseph often found himself enmeshed in a series of unexpected circumstances. First, God became Lord of His marriage in a way no man could ever have imagined. Then, like a common refugee, Joseph was turned away from decent accommodations when he and Mary most needed them, at the moment of Jesus' birth (Lk 2:7). Then, during a dark night, he had to flee from a government-led assassination plot against his infant Foster-Son (Mt 2:13). At least three times he had to pack up and move his family on short notice. He and Mary had to search in sorrow for three days for Jesus (Lk 2:48). Upon finding Jesus, Joseph then heard Jesus say: "Did you not know I had to be in My Father's house?" (Lk 2:49) Even after learning such amazing humility and childlike trust in God, it must have been difficult for Joseph to hear that he was playing second-fiddle as a father.
For the task of safeguarding the Child Jesus, God chose a man who excelled in hearing and obeying: St. Joseph, the man of faith. Joseph must have spent a lot of time on his knees in fervent prayer for help. The circumstances of his life repeatedly taught him instant obedience, which sprang from his instantly hearing God's commands, which flowed from his constant prayer.
With St. Joseph, let us be upwardly mobile. Let us cultivate the ability to instantly turn to God in prayer, hear His voice, and obey Him in faith. St. Joseph, pray for us.
Prayer: Father, I will trust in You with all my heart and rely not on my own intelligence (Prv 3:5).
Promise: "All depends on faith, everything is grace. Thus the promise holds true for all Abraham's descendants." -Rm 4:16
Praise: St. Joseph was one of the very first to accept the Incarnation, and the first to take Jesus to the Gentiles (Mt 2:14).

PM eNewsletter 5th Sunday of Lent
March 18th, 5th Sunday of Lent
This Monday, Lord, we celebrate a hero of faith, trust and love.
A man who set aside his own desires, and trusted in You to give him the strength to really die to
self, and let You, through the power of the Holy Spirit, lead them to life in You.
Jesus, St. Joseph was a humble carpenter, and yet You made him into a man of very strong faith.
Oh Christ, please give us the strength, to really see and to let You lead us through life as You
lead the Holy Family.
Let us trust that all things work to good for those who love You.
Let us give our lives to You, and You alone, and Lord protect us all from the evil ones and their
false promises of happiness.
Let us worship and adore You with all that we are, and fill within us all that is needed, to let
You be the true guide into and through the Holy Spirit and Your church.
Amen and Amen.
Thank You Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body
This weeks readings and reflections
Sunday CROSS-WORD
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?lang=en&d=3/18/2018
"I - once I am lifted up from earth - will draw all men to Myself." -John 12:32
The Lord promised us a new covenant (Jer 31:31). Jesus called it the covenant in His blood
(Mt 26:28). Jesus "became the Source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him" by learning
"obedience from what He suffered" (Heb 5:9, 8). "Unless the grain of wheat falls to the earth and
dies, it remains just a grain of wheat. But if it dies, it produces much fruit" (Jn 12:24). Once
Jesus was lifted up on the cross, He began to draw all people to Himself (Jn 12:32). Jesus' bloody
suffering and death on the cross established the new covenant, gave us salvation, and continues to
bear the fruit of evangelization by drawing all people to Him.
When we think of Jesus' cross and our daily crosses (Lk 9:23), our souls are troubled (Jn 12:27).
Like Jesus, we are tempted to pray that we will be saved from the cross rather than saved by the
cross (Jn 12:27). Yet it is for the cross that we have come to this hour (Jn 12:27). Therefore,
let us embrace the cross and determine to "speak of nothing but Jesus Christ and Him crucified"
(1 Cor 2:2). Pray with St. Francis of Assisi: "We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You because
by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world." "May I never boast of anything but the cross of
our Lord Jesus Christ!" (Gal 6:14)
Prayer: Father, I will stay "near the cross" (see Jn 19:25).
Promise: "In the days when He was in the flesh, He offered prayers and supplications with loud
cries and tears to God, Who was able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His
reverence." -Heb 5:7
Praise: Praise You, Jesus, the crucified Resurrection and Life (Jn 11:25). You are "the Author of
Life" (Acts 3:15).

Heavenly Father thank you so much for blessing myself and my brother with this great opportunity that
has presented itself! Thank you my Lord, in jesus mighty name I give thanks. amen!
(Fernando, IL, , 3/17/2018 6:52:20 PM)
Greetings Brothers and Sisters, Friends and Family of Saints Francis and Clare, Children of Mary:
Asking for your wonderful powerful and loving prayer support for all of the following critically
important needs: For Father Brad: Please fully loosen up his bowels so he can void completely, totally
and REGULARLY--Fr. Brad has been in a rehab center for 6 days now and has been unable to go to the
bathroom properly and completely. He is totally blocked up--but the doctors and medical people there
don't feel that there is any cause for concern. He is very sick to his stomach due to this blockage
and back up of fecal material and needs to go "NOW" and fully to defecate and also to bring complete
and normal "REGULARITY" to his movements. This sounds all a bit too real and disgusting, however it is
totally true and Fr. Brad --who is over 80 years old--desperately needs our prayers to be completely
and permanently healed of this condition of blockage.
(Anonymous, , 3/17/2018 4:24:36 PM)
I ask for prayers for Andrea and her son Peter, who are both suffering much with a virus. I pray for
healing. Lord Jesus, please bring Your touch to them and heal their family. I trust you Lord. You know
how this little family serves You. They Love You and trust You.
(Henry, Illinois, , 3/17/2018 4:15:58 PM)
Please help Kendra have a great rest of trip. Please help our marriage. Thanks for all your blessings.
(Anonymous, , 3/17/2018 2:46:45 PM)
For all prayers posted, especially those with marriage issues. may they have a heart to heart
reconciliation talk. First with our Lord; then with each other..
(Anonymous, , 3/17/2018 2:30:53 PM)
My name is Danielle. My husband has filed for divorce but has finally agreed to try marriage counseling
one last time. Please pray for God to soften his heart and stop blaming me. That God would rekindle his
love for me. Pray for favor in our therapy sessions; that we will heal the wounds and resentment that
have poisoned our marriage. Pray that God gives me the right words to say and shows us both what we need
to do to heal the relationship. For the therapist's wisdom to help us. For divine intervention to
completely restore our marriage. That he will let go of past anger, hurt and resentments completely.
(Danielle Y., United States, 3/17/2018 1:01:19 PM)
Father, we ask that You go before EB and surround her with Your Love and Angels. Protect her from any
breakdown, flat tires, bad traffic, bad weather, any delays, or evil and bring her home safely.
Thank You God, Amen.
(Carol, Arizona , , 3/17/2018 12:24:16 PM)
We pray for the intercession of St. Patrick today to intercede for the people of Ireland that they reject
abortion. St. Patrick pray for the people of Ireland.

Notable quotations from Pope Francis and official teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
BE ON FIRE FOR GOD
GOD'S PLAN
Next October ... the Synod of Bishops will meet to discuss the theme of young people and in particular
the relationship between young people, faith and vocation. There we will have a chance to consider
more deeply how, at the center of our life, is the call to joy that God addresses to us and how this
is "God's plan for men and women in every age"
(Synod of Bishops, ... Young People, The Faith and Vocational Discernment, Introduction).
NOT VICTIMS OF CHANCE
The ... World Day of Prayer for Vocations ... proclaims this good news to us, and in a decisive manner.
We are not victims of chance or swept up in a series of unconnected events; on the contrary, our life
and our presence in this world are the fruit of a divine vocation!
GOD IS WITH US
... The mystery of the Incarnation reminds us that God continually comes to encounter us. He is
God-with-us, who walks along the often dusty paths of our lives. He knows our anxious longing for love
and He calls us to joy.

PM Internet Prayer Requests
http://www.presentationministries.com/prayer/prayer.asp
Lord, thank you for the blessings. May we grow to love You more and more each day.
(Anonymous, , 3/17/2018 7:53:52 PM)

Pope Francis, Shepherd of Truth

CROSS-WORD - One Bread, One Body, 3/18/2018
Sunday, March 18, 2018, Fifth Sunday of Lent
Jeremiah 31:31-34, Hebrews 5:7-9, Psalm 51:3-4, 12-15, John 12:20-33
Link to Readings --> http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/031818.cfm
CROSS-WORD
"I - once I am lifted up from earth - will draw all men to Myself." -John 12:32
The Lord promised us a new covenant (Jer 31:31). Jesus called it the covenant in His blood (Mt 26:28). Jesus "became the Source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him" by learning "obedience from what He suffered" (Heb 5:9, 8). "Unless the grain of wheat falls to the earth and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat. But if it dies, it produces much fruit" (Jn 12:24). Once Jesus was lifted up on the cross, He began to draw all people to Himself (Jn 12:32). Jesus' bloody suffering and death on the cross established the new covenant, gave us salvation, and continues to bear the fruit of evangelization by drawing all people to Him.
When we think of Jesus' cross and our daily crosses (Lk 9:23), our souls are troubled (Jn 12:27). Like Jesus, we are tempted to pray that we will be saved from the cross rather than saved by the cross (Jn 12:27). Yet it is for the cross that we have come to this hour (Jn 12:27). Therefore, let us embrace the cross and determine to "speak of nothing but Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (1 Cor 2:2). Pray with St. Francis of Assisi: "We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world." "May I never boast of anything but the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ!" (Gal 6:14)
Prayer: Father, I will stay "near the cross" (see Jn 19:25).
Promise: "In the days when He was in the flesh, He offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to God, Who was able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence." -Heb 5:7
Praise: Praise You, Jesus, the crucified Resurrection and Life (Jn 11:25). You are "the Author of Life" (Acts 3:15).
(For a related teaching, order our tape "Crucified to the World" on audio AV 40A-3 or video V-40A.)

THE 14-DAY WAR - One Bread, One Body, 3/17/2018
Saturday, March 17, 2018, St. Patrick
Jeremiah 11:18-20, Psalm 7:2-3, 9-12, John 7:40-53
Link to Readings --> http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/031718.cfm
THE 14-DAY WAR
"Yet I, like a trusting lamb led to slaughter, had not realized that they were hatching plots against me." -Jeremiah 11:19
Two weeks from today is Holy Saturday and Easter Vigil. Spiritual warfare may well intensify as we near the time to renew our baptismal promises. This renewal is the culmination of Lent and the center of the year. Because of this renewal's strategic importance, the devil rages as we prepare to reject him, all his works, and all his empty promises. We may experience persecution as plots are hatched against us (Jer 11:19). We may be surrounded by confusion and division (see Jn 7:43). We may be ridiculed (see Jn 7:47) and taunted (see Jn 7:52) for our faith in the Lord.
To claim Jesus' victory in spiritual warfare:
* "fix your eyes on Jesus" (Heb 3:1),
* praise the Lord, especially at Mass (see Ps 8:3),
* repent and go to Confession,
* wield "the sword of the Spirit, the word of God" (Eph 6:17),
* attack the evil one through prayer and especially through fasting (Mt 17:21),
* surround yourself with Christian community (see Heb 12:1) to avoid becoming isolated in spiritual warfare, and
* "rejoice in the Lord always" (Phil 4:4).
Prayer: Father, "to You I have entrusted my cause!" (Jer 11:20)
Promise: "No man ever spoke like that before." -Jn 7:46
Praise: St. Patrick's commitment to Jesus was so extreme that he endured grave hardships, and was willing to suffer imprisonment or even death if God so required.
(For related teaching, order our booklet, "Life-Changing Prayers from the Bible," or our tape on "How to Pray the Bible "on audio AV 82-3 or video V-82.)

THE CERTAINTY OF PERSECUTION - One Bread, One Body, 3/16/2018
Friday, March 16, 2018
Wisdom 2:1, 12-22, Psalm 34:17-21, 23, John 7:1-2, 10, 25-30

THE CERTAINTY OF PERSECUTION
"Let us condemn him to a shameful death; for according to his own words, God will take care of him." -Wisdom 2:20
If we want to live a godly life, we will be persecuted (2 Tm 3:12). We don't know the severity of this persecution, but we do know the certainty of it.
Although many non-Christians pride themselves on being tolerant, they will probably not tolerate Christians, for we are obnoxious to them (Wis 2:12). They think we are setting ourselves against their doings, reproaching them "for transgressions of the law," charging them with violations of their training, and censuring their thoughts (Wis 2:12, 14). Merely to see us is a hardship for many non-Christians (Wis 2:14) because our lives are different (Wis 2:15). An automatic tension exists between Christians and non-Christians.
Eventually something has to give; something has to snap. Non-Christians either give their lives to Jesus and become Christians, or they revile, torture, and condemn Christians (Wis 2:19-20). Non-Christians either become other Christs or anti-christs. They take up Jesus' cross (Lk 9:23), or they crucify Jesus and hold Him up to contempt by attacking His disciples (see Heb 6:6).
May your life in Christ be so authentic that you are worthy of being persecuted (see Acts 5:41).
Prayer: Father, in life may I lead many people to You. In death, may I lead many more people to You.
Promise: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; and those who are crushed in spirit He saves." -Ps 34:19
Praise: John gave his life to the Lord at the funeral of his Christian friend.
(For a related teaching on "Developing a Deep Personal Relationship with Jesus", order, listen to, or download our CD 52-1 or DVD 52-CH. 1 at presentationministries.com or order our tape on audio AV 52-1 or video V-52.)

THE TIME OF DECISION IS NEAR
"How can you believe?" -John 5:47
In a little over two weeks, we will be asked six questions. We have been praying and fasting for about thirty days in preparation for answering these questions and making this greatest of all decisions. These are the most challenging and important questions we have ever been or will ever be asked. On Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday, at every Mass in every Catholic Church in the world, we will be invited to renew our baptismal promises. This will mean totally giving our lives to God and living no longer for ourselves but for Him (see 2 Cor 5:15).
The key to the baptismal promises is the fifth promise and question: "Do you believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord?" Jesus is the only Way to the Father (Jn 14:6), and He is the One Who baptizes us in the Spirit (Mk 1:8). Therefore, only by making the fifth baptismal promise will we then be able to make the fourth and the sixth promises. And only by making these last three promises can we make the first three promises and reject Satan, all his works, and all his empty promises.
The saints (e.g. John the Baptizer) witness to Jesus as Lord and God (Jn 5:33). The works of Jesus are an even greater witness (Jn 5:36). Moreover, the Father, Who sent Jesus, witnesses to the lordship and divinity of Jesus (Jn 5:37). Also, the Scriptures testify to Jesus (Jn 5:39). Nevertheless, over four billion people do not believe in Jesus as Lord and God. What will you say when you are asked: "Do you believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord?" If you say "I do," how will you live your new life?
Prayer: "Lord, I believe! Help my lack of faith!" (Mk 9:24, our transl.)
Promise: "So the Lord relented in the punishment He had threatened to inflict on His people." -Ex 32:14
Praise: Brenda repented deeply and returned to Confession after an absence of fifteen years.

Rescript: In accord with the "Code of Canon Law", I hereby grant my permission to publish "One Bread, One Body" covering the period from February 1, 2018 through March 31, 2018

ABOUT YOUR DEATH
"The man who hears My word and has faith in Him Who sent Me possesses eternal life. He does not come under condemnation, but has passed from death to life." -John 5:24
Unless you are alive at the time of Jesus' Second Coming, you are going to die. At present you are living in the time of mercy. "Now is the acceptable time! Now is the day of salvation!" (2 Cor 6:2) Now is the only time you will have to establish a relationship with Jesus as your merciful Savior.
When you die, the season of mercy is over for you (Catechism, 1021). It will immediately be the season of judgment (Catechism, 1022). You will meet Jesus as Judge (Jn 5:27). At that moment, it will be too late for you to establish a relationship with Jesus as merciful Savior. Jesus made this very clear on so many occasions in His preaching (see e.g. Lk 13:25-27; Mt 25:10-13).
Too many think no one goes to hell. Jesus contradicts this. When asked how many go to heaven, Jesus indicated the possibility that many do not (Lk 13:24). Death and hell are not popular subjects these days, but to deny the reality of eternal condemnation is to deny Jesus. If we think we face no danger of condemnation, there is no need for a Savior, no need for Jesus.
Hell is real and eternal. When you meet Jesus after your death, will you meet Him as Savior or Judge? "Why delay, then?" (Acts 22:16) Right now, repent of your sins and accept Jesus as your Savior. Then obey Him and worship Him till your death (Lk 21:19).
Prayer: Jesus, how can I say "no" to You when You love me so much? Melt away all my resistance in the fire of Your love.
Promise: "The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth." -Ps 145:18
Praise: The death of a drinking buddy prompted Antonio to return to Jesus, and change the direction of his life.
