March 11th 4th Sunday of Lent
Jesus, in this world of false hopes and promises, we have to really look at You in Your Eucharistic
Body and Blood, and Your word, as the pathway to truth.
The people will celebrate a famous saint this Saturday. and will eat and drink, and think that this
will give them joy.
But, oh Jesus, there is but one real joy, and that is to know, love and serve You, with all of our
hearts, souls and mind.
Jesus, let us realize that St. Patrick came to root out false religion and free the people of
Ireland, to truly give their lives to You, the living and true God.
Let us celebrate Your victory over the world, and dedicate ourselves again to You this Lent as the
way, the truth and the light.
Let us see You, in the breaking of the bread, and hear You, in the silence of our hearts.
Thank you, Jesus, for loving us so much.
Amen and Amen.
Thank You Lord, for loving us totally.

Sunday HAVE YOU, ARE YOU, AND WILL YOU BE SAVED?

"God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved
through Him." -John 3:17
We are saved by grace through faith (Eph 2:8). Jesus saved us especially by the grace of His death
and resurrection. We are being saved by this good news "at this very moment" if we "hold fast to
it" (1 Cor 15:2). Yet salvation is not only a past and present reality, it is future. "For if you
confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the
dead, you will be saved" (Rm 10:9). The one who believes in the gospel "and accepts baptism will
be saved" (Mk 16:16). Thus, if we have been baptized into Jesus and into His resurrection, we have
been saved (see Rm 6:3ff). We are being saved at this moment, if we are being faithful to our
baptismal promises. We will be saved from sin, death, hell, and Satan and saved for final victory,
perfect love, heavenly peace, and eternal life, if we continue to live our Baptisms by resisting
temptations, repenting from our sins, and obeying the Lord in all things.
In three weeks, we will celebrate the first day of the Easter season. At every Mass in every
Catholic church in the world, we will be invited to renew our baptismal promises. At that time,
make the deepest act of faith you have ever made. Give your life totally to Jesus. Be saved!
Prayer: Father, I accept salvation on Your terms.
Promise: "God is rich in mercy; because of His great love for us He brought us to life with Christ
when we were dead in sin." -Eph 2:4
Praise: Praise the crucified and risen Jesus, Healer of the blind and "the Light of the world!"
(Jn 9:5)

in our hearts. LORD JESUS CHRIST the son of the living GOD have mercy on this sinner. May my ego

Bible Telephone Line
The Bible Telephone Line (BTL) has been in operation for 26 years. Begun by Fr. Al in 1991, it now
continues with one deacon of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and two lay teachers trained by
Presentation Ministries. The BTL provides callers with a short teaching on the readings for the
daily Mass. It is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a short prayer
request which will be shared on the line with the other callers the next day on a separate line.

BE ON FIRE FOR GOD
END OF TIME
These words appear in Christ's teaching about the end of time. They were spoken ... on the Mount of
Olives, where the Lord's passion would begin. In reply to a question of the disciples, Jesus foretells
a great tribulation and describes a situation in which the community of believers might well find
itself: amid great trials, false prophets would lead people astray and the love that is the core of
the Gospel would grow cold in the hearts of many.
"SOOTHING REMEDY"
Perhaps we see, deep within ourselves and all about us, the signs I have ... described. But the Church,
our Mother and Teacher, along with the often bitter medicine of the truth, offers us in the Lenten
season the soothing remedy of prayer, almsgiving and fasting.
SPIRITUAL BENEFITS
By devoting more time to prayer, we enable our hearts to root out our secret lies and forms of
self-deception, and ... to find the consolation God offers ... Almsgiving sets us free from greed and
helps us to regard our neighbor as a brother or sister ... Fasting weakens our tendency to violence; it
disarms us and becomes an important opportunity for growth... Fasting wakes us up. It makes us more
attentive to God and to our neighbor. It revives our desire to obey God, who alone is capable of
satisfying our hunger.
