"SET FREE IN THE OPEN" (SEE PS 18:20)
"Go out now and take your place in the temple precincts and preach to the people all about this new life." -Acts 5:20
The apostles were in prison, and then the angel of the Lord miraculously set them free (Acts 5:19). In addition to being set free of the physical chains that had bound them in jail, the apostles were also free of the chains of fear which had formerly kept them hidden in the upper room before receiving the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (see Jn 20:19; cf Acts 2:4). It would have been understandable if the apostles had fled from Jerusalem out of self-preservation and a desire to avoid further persecution. However, the apostles obediently and courageously "took their place" in public and resumed their preaching and teaching about new life in Jesus and the life in the Spirit (see Acts 5:20-21).
The Lord set the apostles free in the open (2 Sm 22:20; Ps 18:20). They were "a pillar of iron, a wall of brass against" their opponents (Jer 1:18). In Jesus, we need not fear our enemies nor live in chains of fear. The Lord promises: "It shall not be you who turn to them, but they shall turn to you" for consolation (see Jer 15:19). In the freedom of the Spirit, we can walk in the light, in the joy of the Lord Who is our Strength (Neh 8:10). In Jesus, we can overcome the world (Jn 16:33).
"The light [of Christ] shines on in the darkness, a darkness that did not overcome it" (Jn 1:5). Eleven days ago, at the Easter Vigil, we began the liturgy in darkness. We received the light of Christ from the Easter candle, and soon the dark Church was illuminated with light. "Let your light shine" (see Mt 5:16). Do not live in fear. In Jesus, you are the light of the world (Mt 5:14).
Prayer: Father, consume me. May I be constantly on fire for Jesus.
Promise: "Yes, God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him may not die but may have eternal life." -Jn 3:16
Praise: St. Joseph taught Jesus how to work with wood. Jesus then worked the salvation of the world on a wooden cross.

CREDIBILITY AND CONSISTENCY - One Bread, One Body, 4/30/2019

CREDIBILITY AND CONSISTENCY
"With power the apostles bore witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus." -Acts 4:33
Alleluia! Jesus is risen! We are His witnesses (see Acts 1:8). We will have credibility and power in proclaiming Jesus' Resurrection if:
* We devote ourselves "to the apostles' instruction and the communal life, to the breaking of bread and the prayers" (Acts 2:42).
* Our community is "of one heart and one mind" (Acts 4:32).
* There is no one needy among us, for those "who [own] property or houses" would sell them and donate the proceeds, and "lay them at the feet of the apostles to be distributed to everyone according to his need" (Acts 4:34-35).
* We "rejoice in the Lord always" (Phil 4:4).
Power in communication comes from credibility, and credibility is based on a certain kind of consistency. To have a life consistent with the message of the Resurrection means to have a life of great holiness, amazing unity, zealous sacrifice, and exultant joy. We must simply practice what we preach. Yet when we preach the message of the Resurrection, we have quite a challenge in practicing this most awesome revelation.
However, the Lord will never give us the message without the medium to proclaim the message. Because He tells us to say it, He gives the grace to live it, and His grace is always sufficient (2 Cor 12:9). The world has heard our message of the Resurrection. Those who do not believe in the Lord are looking at our lives before deciding to believe. Live a risen life to proclaim the risen Word.
Prayer: Father, make me worthy of being taken seriously.
Promise: "The wind blows where it will. You hear the sound it makes but you do not know where it comes from, or where it goes. So it is with everyone begotten of the Spirit." -Jn 3:8
Praise: St. Charles Borromeo recognized the sanctity of the future Pope St. Pius V and encouraged him to persevere in seeking the Lord.

EASTER PRESENTS - One Bread, One Body, 4/29/2019
Monday, April 29, 2019, St. Catherine of Siena
Acts 4:23-31, Psalm 2:1-9, John 3:1-8
Link to Readings --> http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/042919.cfm
EASTER PRESENTS
"Grant to Your servants, even as they speak Your words, complete assurance." -Acts 4:29
On the ninth day of Easter, our true Love, Jesus (see 1 Jn 4:8, 16), gives us holy boldness, complete assurance, absolute confidence (Acts 4:29; Heb 10:22), "parrhesia, straightforward simplicity, filial trust, joyous assurance, humble boldness, the certainty of being loved" (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2778). When we pray with this assurance and confidence, we are "filled with the Holy Spirit" (Acts 4:31).
Will you accept the risen Jesus' gift of what the Catechism quote above calls "humble boldness"? If you accept this gift, you are committing yourself to use it - to witness for the risen Christ even if you will be persecuted. If you are in love with the risen Christ, that love will impel you (2 Cor 5:14) to speak up for Jesus. Therefore, such boldness may be just what you want and need. However, if your love for God, Who is Love, is cold (see Mt 24:12), then you would not want this humble boldness from your true Love on this ninth day of Easter.
The risen Jesus is asking us the same question He asked Peter: "Do you love me?" (Jn 21:15, 16, 17) Jesus is breathing on you and commanding you: "Receive the Holy Spirit" (Jn 20:22) of love (see Gal 5:22). Say "yes" to Love. Receive the gifts of love and boldness.
Prayer: Father, on this day in the season of Easter, give me a greater love for You than ever before.
Promise: "I solemnly assure you, no one can enter into God's kingdom without being begotten of water and Spirit." -Jn 3:5
Praise: St. Catherine of Siena had converted thousands by her words and actions as a young adult.
(For a holy boldness through Pentecost coming soon, order, listen to, or download "Pentecost Novena" on CD 103-1 or DVD 103 on our website.)

PM eNewsletter Divine Mercy Sunday
April 28, Divine Mercy Sunday
Jesus, who of us are worthy of Your Divine Mercy?
Who of us are worthy of Your love, no less Your mercy.
Yet, this is what You have decreed through Your church that we look upon Your Merciful Heart and
see Your rays of love and forgiveness that we see within Your eyes understanding and within Your
outstretched hands Your call to come and be loved.
Oh Christ, as we struggle with our humanity it is so hard for us to accept the fact that You love
us for no other reason except---- You love us.
Christ, open us up to accept Your unconditional love and grow into loving not only ourselves, but
also all those You put into our lives.
Jesus, let us be lovers of Yours in loving others.
Amen and Amen.
Thank You Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body
This weeks readings and reflections
Sunday THE DIFFERENCE A WEEK MAKES?
https://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?lang=en&d=4/28/2019
"A week later, the disciples were once more in the room, and this time Thomas was with them. Despite
the locked doors, Jesus came." -John 20:26
The octave of the first Easter was disappointing and uneventful for the apostles. On the evening of
the day of Jesus' resurrection, Jesus sent His apostles to proclaim His Gospel (Jn 20:21), but eight
days later they were still paralyzed by fear and behind locked doors (see Jn 20:26). Thomas, not
present a week earlier, did not believe that Jesus was risen from the dead. Perhaps this is because
Thomas saw no change in the lifestyle of those who had seen the risen Jesus. However, the Lord had
mercy on the apostles after they were unfaithful to Him so many times. He came to them once again
and was even willing to subject Himself to Thomas prodding His wounds (Jn 20:27).
Possibly the octave of Easter has been disappointing for you also. You may have even sinned against
the risen Lord. You may be concealing Jesus' Resurrection more than revealing it. Nevertheless,
Jesus comes to you once again with rays of mercy coming from His wounded heart.
The Holy Spirit is "the Spirit of truth" (Jn 16:13). He will move us to be true to the Lord and not
unfaithful. The Holy Spirit will produce the fruit of love in us (Gal 5:22), and we will stop our
sinful rejection of the Lord and our disobedience to Him. By Jesus' mercy and the power of the Holy
Spirit, we will be witnesses for the risen Christ and truly celebrate Easter. "Lord, have mercy.
Come, Holy Spirit!"
Prayer: Father, make this Divine Mercy Sunday one of the most important days of my life because of
my love for You.
Promise: "More and more believers, men and women in great numbers, were continually added to the
Lord." -Acts 5:14
Praise: Praise Jesus, risen from the dead. "This is the day the Lord has made; let us be glad and
rejoice in it" (Ps 118:24).

Pope Francis, Shepherd of Truth
https://presentationministries.com/pope/fst2018-11.asp?navlink=latest
Notable quotations from Pope Francis and official teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
END HUNGER
THE CHURCH AND THE POOR
For her part, the Catholic Church, in the exercise of the mission with which her divine Founder has
entrusted her, struggles daily throughout the world against hunger and malnutrition in multiple ways
and through her various structures and associations, remembering that those who suffer from misery are
not different from us. They share our flesh and blood. They deserve ... a friendly hand to help and
support them, in such a way that no one is left behind, so that in our world fraternal solidarity may
boast its own identity card and citizenship, beyond any flashy slogans void of substance.
"HOPES OF MILLIONS"
The annual celebration of World Food Day emphasizes ... the needs, yearnings and hopes of millions of
persons who lack bread each day. Increasingly, there are more people who sadly make up part of that
great number of human beings who have nothing, or almost nothing to eat. It should be the opposite and
yet recent statistics are a painful proof of how international solidarity appears to be cooling.
"EFFECTIVE HELP"
The poor expect from us an effective help that takes them out of their misery... In this twenty-first
century that has seen considerable advances in the field of technology, science, communications and
infrastructure, we ought to feel shame for not having achieved the same advances in humanity and
solidarity, and so satisfy the primary needs of the most disadvantaged.

https://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?lang=en&d=4/28/2019

FULLY ALIVE - One Bread, One Body, 4/27/2019

FULLY ALIVE
"Go into the whole world and proclaim the good news to all creation." -Mark 16:15
Jesus' physical body has been raised from the dead. How many parts of Christ's body are functioning to the degree to which God has called them? We need a resurrection, animation, and activation of many parts of Christ's body.
After Pentecost, however, the power and "self-assurance of Peter and John" was amazing (Acts 4:13ff). Even when the religious leaders threatened Peter and John in order to paralyze them, "Peter and John answered, 'Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight for us to obey you rather than God. Surely we cannot help speaking of what we have heard and seen' " (Acts 4:19-20).
Pope Leo the Great taught: "Christian, recognize your dignity and, now that you share in God's own nature, do not return to your former base condition by sinning. Remember Who is your Head and of Whose body you are a member" (Catechism, 1691). Christians, come to life. Act vigorously and fully as members of Christ's body. "Awake, O sleeper, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light" (Eph 5:14).
Prayer: Father, make me fully alive in and for Christ.
Promise: "Finally, as they were at table, Jesus was revealed to the Eleven. He took them to task for their disbelief and their stubbornness, since they had put no faith in those who had seen Him after He had been raised." -Mk 16:14
Praise: Sarah kept witnessing, loving, and praying until her children returned to Jesus and the Church.

THE SPIRIT OF EASTER - One Bread, One Body, 4/26/2019

THE SPIRIT OF EASTER
"Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, spoke up." -Acts 4:8
On the day of Jesus' death, Peter denied Him three times. After receiving the Holy Spirit, however, Peter became a new person. He fearlessly obeyed the Lord even to being thrown into prison. At his trial before "Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly class" (Acts 4:6), Peter defied the religious leaders. He proclaimed that "Jesus is 'the Stone rejected by you the builders Which has become the Cornerstone' " (Acts 4:11). The Holy Spirit transformed Peter into a powerful evangelist and the fearless leader of the newborn Church.
For Jesus' death to set us free and His resurrection to empower us, we need the Holy Spirit. To truly celebrate Easter as soon as possible, we need Pentecost as soon as possible. We don't have to wait for the Father and Son to pour out the Spirit on us. They are waiting for us to repent of any ways in which we may have stifled the Spirit (1 Thes 5:19). Then we will receive the Spirit (Acts 2:38). We will no longer deny Jesus, but celebrate and proclaim Him risen from the dead. Alleluia! Come, Holy Spirit. Jesus is risen!
Prayer: Father, give me a thirst for the Spirit (Jn 7:37) and a new outpouring of the Spirit within three days.
Promise: "Many of those who had heard the speech believed; the number of the men came to about five thousand." -Acts 4:4
Praise: John and Sam walk the streets of a rough neighborhood to lovingly evangelize the poor and heal the physically and spiritually wounded.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

A LOVE STORY OR A GHOST STORY? - One Bread, One Body, 4/25/2019

A LOVE STORY OR A GHOST STORY?
"It is really I. Touch Me, and see that a ghost does not have flesh and bones as I do." -Luke 24:39
Unlike all other religions, Christianity believes that God became man. We believe that God was actually a baby, physically died on a cross, and was buried in a tomb. We also believe that Jesus rose from the dead - not just spiritually but bodily. Jesus is not a ghost (see Lk 24:37). He can be seen and touched (Lk 24:39). He ate food (Lk 24:41-43). He is fully human. Jesus even let Thomas put his hand into His wounded side and his finger into the holes in His nail-scarred hands (Jn 20:27). St. John testifies to this, saying: "What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked upon and our hands have touched - we speak of the Word of life," Jesus (1 Jn 1:1). "This is how you can recognize God's Spirit: every spirit that acknowledges Jesus Christ come in the flesh belongs to God, while every spirit that fails to acknowledge Him does not belong to God" (1 Jn 4:2-3).
Jesus' bodily Resurrection shows that our faith is not based on subjective experiences but on objective, historical fact. We are not new-agers, who are not much different than old-time gnostics seeking enlightenment in spirits and spiritual experience. No, we are Christians, who are in a deep, total, practical relationship with the Person, Jesus Christ, Who is risen from the dead. Our faith is "the substance of things hoped for" (Heb 11:1, our transl); it is not believing in ghosts. Touch the risen Christ.
Prayer: Father, make my faith and my life one.
Promise: "God raised Him from the dead, and we are His witnesses." -Acts 3:15
Praise: Praying for the Holy Spirit changed Albert's life. He received the Holy Spirit deeply. Now he prophesies both vocally and in writing each week.

HEART-BURN - One Bread, One Body, 4/24/2019

HEART-BURN
"Were not our hearts burning inside us?" -Luke 24:32
Jesus spent the afternoon of the day of His Resurrection walking and talking with two of His disciples. "He interpreted for them every passage of Scripture which referred to Him" (Lk 24:27). As Jesus taught His disciples the Scriptures, their hearts began to burn within them (Lk 24:32). This sensation indicated that their hearts were being purified. Thus, Jesus spent the afternoon of His resurrection day purifying hearts through teaching the Bible (see Eph 5:26).
If we let Jesus purify our hearts, our words become powerful, healing, and life-changing, for we speak out of the abundance of our hearts (Lk 6:45). For instance, after Pentecost, Peter's words were "spirit and life" (see Jn 6:63). He led several thousand people to Christ on the first Christian Pentecost (Acts 2:14, 41). He told a man who was lame from birth to walk and the man was healed (Acts 3:6ff). The Holy Spirit fell upon the household of Cornelius when Peter started to preach to them (Acts 10:44).
When we speak out of a pure heart, we speak out of God's heart. Then we speak with the power of God's Word. Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God (see Mt 5:8).
Prayer: Father, purify my heart by faith (Acts 15:9).
Promise: "Then they recounted what had happened on the road and how they had come to know Him in the breaking of bread." -Lk 24:35
Praise: Mark fortifies himself to reach out to the world for Jesus by participating in daily Mass.

ROOTS
"It was to you and your children that the promise was made, and to all those still far off whom the Lord our God calls." -Acts 2:39
On the third day of Easter, the Lord brings to our attention the birthday of the Church. At the first Christian Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured out, three thousand people were baptized, and the Church was born (see Acts 2:41).
Peter mentions at the beginning of his discourse that "it is only nine in the morning." After one-hundred and twenty people received the Holy Spirit, Peter preached the Good News of Jesus' death and Resurrection. Because Peter could not be heard outside by thousands of people, probably hundreds of people passed on the Gospel to many thousands by speaking to several groups. Thus, the Church began with the Holy Spirit prompting newborn Christians to lead immediately to Christ, the Church, and Baptism the thousands of people in their midst.
From day one, life in Christ was not a spectator sport. Christians heard preaching not to keep it to themselves, but to proclaim it in the streets and from the rooftops. These are our roots, the origin of the Church. Let us never forget from where we have come. Let us be ourselves and proclaim the Gospel always and at all costs.
Prayer: Father, like Mary Magdalene, may my spirit "cling to Jesus."
Promise: "Mary Magdalene went to the disciples. 'I have seen the Lord!' she announced. Then she reported what He had said to her." -Jn 20:18
Praise: Maria passed on the Catholic faith to her children and helped her parents find it again.

ROAD WARRIOR - One Bread, One Body, 4/22/2019

ROAD WARRIOR
The women "hurried away from the tomb half-overjoyed, half-fearful, and ran to carry the good news to His disciples. Suddenly, without warning, Jesus stood before them and said, 'Peace!' " -Matthew 28:8-9
The women who came to Jesus' tomb on the first day of the week did not meet Jesus at the tomb but on the road. He told them to tell His brothers to travel the road to meet Him in Galilee (Mt 28:10). That first afternoon after His Resurrection Jesus Himself met two disciples on the road and journeyed with them for about seven miles (Lk 24:13ff). The Ethiopian eunuch was converted on "the road which goes from Jerusalem to Gaza" (Acts 8:26) and became the first person to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Saul, the apostle to the gentiles, was also converted on a road - the road to Damascus (Acts 9:3). Eventually, the name for what we now call "Christianity" was "the Way" (see Acts 9:2; 19:23; 22:4; 24:14, 22). This can also be translated "the road."
These accounts from early Christianity portray conversions on the road. The risen Lord invites us to follow Him on the road where we publicly and joyfully witness for Him. On this road we meet the risen Christ in ever deeper and more mysterious ways. Evangelizers and missionaries who share their faith "on the road" meet the risen Christ repeatedly. Their faith strengthens. Christians who fail to live and share their faith in the Lord may see it erode. Therefore, get on the road where you will meet the risen Jesus.
Prayer: Father, may my love for You make me a "road warrior."
Promise: "This is the Jesus God has raised up, and we are His witnesses." -Acts 2:32
Praise: Praise Jesus, "the Resurrection and the Life" (Jn 11:25) Alleluia!
(Are you living for Christ? As sons and daughters of God through our baptism we have been immersed into Christ. Attend our retreat "Who am I in Christ", May 24-26, and learn how your life can be changed through conforming your will to the will of God. Call 513-373-2397 or 937-587-5464 to register.)

PM eNewsletter Easter Sunday
He is Risen!
April 21st Easter Sunday
Thank You, thank You Jesus, for giving us the right to someday come home and spend eternity in heaven
with the Triune God.
Jesus, You died that we might have life and have it fully.
Jesus, You rose to show us that there is an eternal life for all.
Your love is beyond all understanding and yet You, God, became one of us in all things but sin.
Then Lord, You carried all the sins of mankind to the cross, so that we could be free.
Thank You for all that You do and have done for us.
Thank You for continuing to love us, and helping us, and walking with us, till the day we come home to
You.
Amen and Amen.
Thank You Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body
This weeks readings and reflections
Sunday BAPTIZED INTO THE RISEN CHRIST
https://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?lang=en&d=4/21/2019
"Through baptism into His death we were buried with Him, so that, just as Christ was raised from the
dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live a new life. If we have been united with Him
through likeness to His death, so shall we be through a like resurrection." -Romans 6:4-5
Alleluia! Jesus is risen! "Death has no more power over Him" or over us (Rm 6:9). Alleluia forever!
We are "raised up in company with Christ" (Col 3:1) and begin to live a risen life by being baptized
into Christ and thereby into His death and Resurrection. Because we entered the life of the risen
Christ through Baptism, on this first day of Easter the Lord through His Church challenges us to
renew our baptismal promises. Today, we proclaim our faith in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit, for we were baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Spirit. To live our faith in the Holy Trinity, we must reject Satan completely - all his works
and all his promises. To have faith in the Trinity is to believe in the divinity of Jesus. He is the
only Way to the Father (Jn 14:6) and the One Who baptizes us in the Spirit (Mk 1:8). To have faith
in Jesus' divinity spurs us to love His Body, the Church, serving the members sacrificially
(see Eph 5:25), and to obey all that has been revealed by the Lord and taught by His Church.
On this Easter day, make the deepest act of faith you have ever made. Renew your baptismal promises.
Live your Baptism fully. Meet the risen Christ. Alleluia!
Prayer: Father, make me grasp the radical newness of my Baptism (see Lay Members of Christ's Faithful
People, Pope St. John Paul II, 10).
Promise: "He saw and believed." -Jn 20:8
Praise: Jesus is risen! Alleluia forever!

Notable quotations from Pope Francis and official teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
END HUNGER
WE CAN DO IT
We do indeed have the adequate means and framework so that beautiful words and good wishes may
become an action plan of substance that leads effectively to the eradication of hunger in our world.
To this end we need joint efforts, upright hearts, and persistent concern to firmly and resolutely
make the other's problems one's own.
"LACK OF POLITICAL WILL"
There is a fundamental lack of political will. What is needed is the willingness to end hunger, and
this ultimately will not happen without a moral conviction that is shared by all peoples and all
religious persuasions, where the integral good of the person is at the heart of all initiatives and
consists in "doing to another what we would want done to ourselves."
DON'T BE INDIFFERENT
... These are some reflections I wish to share with those men and women who do not allow themselves
to succumb to indifference; who hear the cry of those who do not have the minimum needed to lead a
dignified life.

DYING TO BE LOVED - One Bread, One Body, 4/19/2019

Friday, April 19, 2019, Good Friday
Isaiah 52:13-53:12, Hebrews 4:14-16; 5:7-9, Psalm 31:2, 6, 12-13, 15-17, 25, John 18:1-19:42

DYING TO BE LOVED
"He was spurned and avoided by men, a man of suffering, accustomed to infirmity." -Isaiah 53:3
Pontius Pilate knew that Jesus was innocent (Jn 18:38; 19:4, 6) so he justly sought to release Jesus. Nevertheless, Pilate wanted the Jewish leaders to agree to Jesus' release. Perhaps Pilate thought that people sometimes have a human tendency to respond to others' sufferings by lessening or changing their hatred and opposition to them. So Pilate unjustly had Jesus brutally scourged and then "Pilate went out a second time and said to the crowd: 'Observe what I do. I am going to bring Him out to you to make you realize that I find no case [against Him].' When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple cloak, Pilate said to them, 'Look at the Man!' " (Jn 19:4-5) Pilate's maneuver backfired for "as soon as the chief priests and the temple guards saw Him they shouted, 'Crucify Him, crucify Him!' " (Jn 19:6)
Why did Jesus suffer so much? The Lord knows that sometimes we human beings respond to others' sufferings by repenting of having hardened our hearts. What failed for Pilate, Jesus accomplished with even more suffering than His scourging. Jesus suffered His agony, Passion, and death knowing that at least some people would change their hearts and love Him. It is sad for us to put ourselves in a position where only cruel suffering can touch us, but Jesus' love for us is so great that He met our unreasonable demands. The Lord Who is Love (1 Jn 4:8, 16) will pour Himself out in love, in blood, and in pain for anyone - even for only one person. How will you let Jesus' Passion and suffering affect you? Will you love Him or crucify Him? (see Heb 6:6)
Prayer: Jesus, I will love You, even if others crucify me.
Promise: "When Jesus took the wine, He said, 'Now it is finished.' Then He bowed His head and delivered over His spirit." -Jn 19:30
Praise: (none)

THE LIFE-STOPPING GIFT
"This is My body, which is for you." -1 Corinthians 11:24
The Eucharist is the Body and Blood, soul and divinity of Jesus. The Eucharist is not only a gift from God, but the Gift Who is God. Therefore, the Eucharist is the greatest of all gifts.
How are we to respond when God gives us His Body and Blood? The right response to the greatest Gift is communion (see Ps 116:12ff), that is, the sharing of covenanted, unconditional love. Therefore, when Jesus gave us His Body and Blood, He presented us not only with the greatest Gift but also the greatest responsibility (see Lk 12:48). When God gives us His Body and Blood, we have an opportunity to receive communion with Him in such depth that every aspect of our lives is transformed and we are never the same. We can choose to let the Lord move us radically forward in our spiritual walk. We live no longer for ourselves but for Him (2 Cor 5:15). We lose our lives (Lk 9:24).
On this Holy Thursday, let us respond to the greatest Gift by giving ourselves radically, unconditionally, and totally to Jesus. Let us not only go to Holy Communion but be in communion. May Holy Communion not only be part of our lives, but may our lives be lived in communion with the eternal and infinite Trinity.
Prayer: Father, may Holy Communion bring an end to my worldly, selfish life.
Promise: "If I washed your feet - I Who am Teacher and Lord - then you must wash each other's feet." -Jn 13:14
Praise: "O Sacrament most holy, O Sacrament divine, all praise and thanksgiving be every moment Thine."

WILL HOLY WEEK BE HOLY? - One Bread, One Body, 4/17/2019

WILL HOLY WEEK BE HOLY?
"Morning after morning He opens my ear that I may hear; and I have not rebelled, have not turned back." -Isaiah 50:4-5
We become holy by God's grace. To be holy as He is holy in every aspect of our conduct is a gift from God (1 Pt 1:15-16). However, we must decide to accept this gift. We choose the grace of holiness by obeying the Lord, especially by taking up our daily crosses (see Lk 9:23). If we accept the gift of holiness, we will see God (Heb 12:14) and forever proclaim: "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God almighty" (Rv 4:8).
This is Holy Week. It is a week when the Lord will grace us exceptionally to grow in holiness. Yet Holy Week may not be that special time of holiness unless we decide to carry the cross of being persecuted (see Mt 5:11). This week the Lord may call us to give our backs to those who beat us and our cheeks to those who pluck our beards (Is 50:6). Holy Week may be a time to turn the other cheek (Mt 5:39) and not shield our faces "from buffets and spitting" (Is 50:6). Holy Week is prime time to take up the cross of reconciliation and to reach out to the Judases in our lives who have persecuted and betrayed us (see Jn 13:26; Mt 26:24-25).
Will Holy Week be holy? Will we embrace the cross of suffering persecution and loving persecutors?
Prayer: Father, on this last full day of Lent, give me such a desire for holiness that I will want to die for love of You.
Promise: "Zeal for Your house consumes me, and the insults of those who blaspheme You fall upon me." -Ps 69:10
Praise: Jesus healed Dave of blindness in his right eye.

IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVE
"You are my hope, O Lord." -Psalm 71:5
Why does God permit abortions, racism, wars, natural catastrophes, and injustices? Why do some of the holiest people feel as if they have "toiled in vain, and for nothing, uselessly, spent" their strength? (Is 49:4) Why is life the way it is?
Although life is a mystery, we can understand it better by understanding that God, the Creator of all life, is a God is Love (1 Jn 4:8, 16). The purpose of life created by Him is love. We are created and re-created to love Him with all our hearts, to love ourselves, and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Lk 10:27). We are redeemed to love as the Lord loves (Jn 13:34) - totally, deeply, and purely.
The Lord orchestrates the events of life to change us from partial to total love of Him, from superficial to deep love, and from a love with mixed motives to a pure love. One of the best ways to transform our love to the highest quality of totality, depth, and purity is for us to be challenged to love our enemies. The Lord repeatedly allows people like Judas (Jn 13:21ff) to betray us and those like Peter to deny us (Jn 13:38). Then He commands us to love these enemies and to lay down our lives for them as He did. He gives us His grace to love the most unlovable. We thereby enter into the mystery of love and of life. Thank God for your worst enemies, for they are your best opportunities to grow in love.
Prayer: Father, by obedience to the truth purify me for a genuine love (1 Pt 1:22).
Promise: "It is too little, He says, for you to be My servant, to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and restore the survivors of Israel; I will make you a light to the nations, that My salvation may reach to the ends of the earth." -Is 49:6
Praise: After three years in a Bible Study, Carolyn converted to the Catholic faith at Easter Vigil Mass.

THE FOOLISH "FANATICISM" OF FAITH - One Bread, One Body, 4/15/2019

THE FOOLISH "FANATICISM" OF FAITH
"Many Jews were going over to Jesus and believing in Him on account of Lazarus." -John 12:11
On the first day of the Easter season, the Lord through His Church will question us publicly to determine whether we believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. If each of us says "I do" to these questions, we will be making the greatest decision a human being can make. By this act of faith, we will completely submit our intellect and will to God (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 143). "Faith is first of all a personal adherence of man to God" (CCC, 150).
If we renew our baptismal promises, we will be making an act of faith, as Mary of Bethany did. We will be throwing ourselves at Jesus' feet and pouring out our lives in worship of Him (see Jn 12:3). By our act of faith in the Lord, we will become fools for Christ (see 1 Cor 4:10). The Judases of the world will criticize us for our foolishness and "fanaticism" (see Jn 12:4ff). However, Jesus will accept our act of faith, love, and worship.
Those truly in love do things so wise that they appear to be foolish. Jesus, our Wisdom (1 Cor 1:30) and our Love (1 Jn 4:8, 16), looked like a fool when He died on the cross for those who sinned against Him. This Easter, by faith follow Jesus through the cross to the glory of the Resurrection.
Prayer: Father, may I express my faith in You no matter what it costs or how foolish I look.
Promise: "I believe that I shall see the bounty of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord with courage; be stouthearted, and wait for the Lord." -Ps 27:13-14
Praise: At a healing service, the healing team prayed aloud that the Lord would heal those in the crowd with hearing problems. At that moment, Diane's deafness was instantly healed, and she was able to hear perfectly.

Praise: At a healing service, the healing team prayed aloud that the Lord would heal those in the crowd with hearing problems. At that moment, Diane's deafness was instantly healed, and she was able to hear perfectly.

PM eNewsletter Passion (Palm) Sunday
April 14th Passion Sunday
Jesus, with what love, you have loved us.
You gave Your life, that we would have eternal life, and You gave us Your Body and Blood, as the
food of life.
This week, we commemorate Your passion and death, and your institution of the Eucharist.
What a plan the Father had for us, that You, the true sacrifice of redemption, was offered as a
never ending eternal gift of forgivness of sin.
Your suffering paid the price for all of us, for all time.
Thank You for Your love.
Amen and Amen.
Thank You Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body
This weeks readings and reflections
Sunday FORGIVING AND GIVING ALL
https://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?lang=en&d=4/14/2019
"In His anguish He prayed with all the greater intensity, and His sweat became like drops of blood
falling to the ground. Then He rose from prayer and came to His disciples." -Luke 22:44-45
Jesus prayed always (see Lk 18:1). He even prayed while He was hanging on the cross and dying. He
prayed: "Father, forgive them; they do not know what they are doing" (Lk 23:34). With His last breath,
He prayed: "Father, into Your hands I commend My spirit" (Lk 23:46). These two prayers are related. To
give ourselves totally to the Lord, we must forgive. When Jesus taught us to pray, He taught us to ask
our Father in heaven to give us our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses. If we do not give
forgiveness, we are not giving our "all." Therefore, we are not giving as Jesus gives. Thus, we must
forgive in order to give our lives to the Lord.
During Holy Week, we are encouraged to accept the grace to forgive all those who have sinned against
us. Jesus forgave us for participating in His crucifixion through our sins. We have been forgiven the
unimaginable sin of being involved in crucifying God (see Catechism of the Catholic Church, 598; cf
Acts 3:15). In thanksgiving for being forgiven, we should pass on the Lord's forgiveness to those who
have sinned against us (Mt 18:33). Jesus died forgiving His enemies. May we live forgiving our enemies
and thereby give our lives to Him as a total, unblemished sacrifice (see Lv 1:3; cf Rm 12:1).
Prayer: Father, make this week holy through miracles of forgiveness. May I decide to accept these
miracles now on the first day of Holy Week.
Promise: "He humbled Himself, obediently accepting even death, death on a cross!" -Phil 2:8
Praise: All hail, King Jesus, suffering servant and Messiah! Your name is above every other name. All
glory be to You.

Notable quotations from Pope Francis and official teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
END HUNGER
"WE MUST DO BETTER"
We are all called to go further. We can and we must do better for the helpless. We must move to
concrete action, so that the scourge of hunger disappears completely.

This weeks readings and reflections
Sunday FORGIVING AND GIVING ALL
https://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?lang=en&d=4/14/2019
"In His anguish He prayed with all the greater intensity, and His sweat became like drops of blood

Jesus prayed always (see Lk 18:1). He even prayed while He was hanging on the cross and dying. He
