PM eNewsletter 2nd Sunday of Advent

December 4th, 2nd Sunday of Advent

This week, oh! Christ, we celebrate the beginning of our salvation history, with Mary our
mother, being conceived without sin in her mothers womb.

Let us celebrate our mother Mary who loves us with a love that can't be fully explained or
understood.

Let us give You thanks and praise for how You set up our salvation, so that You did it all,
and we get the benefit of eternal life.

Thank You Jesus, for loving us and giving us so great a witness of Your never ending love,
Mary, our intercessor with You to the Father.

Amen and Amen.

Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday ARE YOU COMMITTED TO REPENTANCE?
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=12/4/2011

"John the Baptizer appeared in the desert, proclaiming a baptism of repentance which led to
the forgiveness of sins." -Mark 1:4

During Advent, we "prepare the way of the Lord" (Is 40:3) as we await His Christmas coming.
Today, the Church proclaims that a major way to prepare is to repent.

John the Baptizer could never be accused of dabbling in repentance. Anyone watching John
live day after day in a hot, arid desert, wearing camel-hair shirts and eating grasshoppers
(Mk 1:6), would conclude that John was committed to repentance.

Anyone watching Jesus stretch out His hands to be nailed to the cross and then hang in
crucified, excruciating agony would have to conclude that Jesus was committed to the
forgiveness of sins. Look at a crucifix for a minute, and you can't come to any other
conclusion but that Jesus was serious when He called us to repent and reform our lives
(Mk 1:15).

Do we merely dabble in repentance, or will we make a commitment to repent? Will our Advent
Confession reflect our commitment to "make every effort to be found without stain or
defilement" in utter holiness? (2 Pt 3:14) Jesus wants "all to come to repentance"
(2 Pt 3:9). "Commit to the Lord your way" (Ps 37:5).

As recommended to me, I place my pain and grief over SB into the hands of Jesus and Our Lady of
I need prayer for strength. My girlfriend and mother to my child has left me for another man.
I'm so sad and don't know what to do. Pray for me that I may make the best decisions in handling
the custody of my son. Pray for me that I may grow in my relationship with my god and son. Help
deal with my heart ache.
(Oscar, San Antonio , Tx, United States, 12/3/2011 7:26:35 PM)

Please pray for Dolores, Robert , Frederick, Louise and Mary Jo, all deceased. Isabelle, recovers
from her stroke and gets her health back. Jean Marie and Ann Marie, there needs. Private intention.

Please Lord Help me, I am falling through the cracks, have no where near the help I am needing &
noone to help me to get the follow through yet. Please I beg that my life heals. I am disabled &
cannot do these things for myself anymore. In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen.
(Anonymous, 12/3/2011 6:59:56 PM)

Let us pray for all who are imprisoned.imprisoned by the culture of materialism, selfishness,
greed, etc. who are lost and unable to find the way.to peace, joy and happiness that comes from
giving, sacrifice and love for one another as we await the birth of Our Lord Jesus.the True
meaning of Christmas.Jesus I Trust in YOU!
(Ken, Texas, 12/3/2011 5:44:29 PM)

Lord, I come to you in Thanksgiving for all you have given me -- all the prayers that have been
answered whether I know it or not. I know I am weak, but the pain I am in is so great I can hardly
survive it. Please God, I am begging for Divine Justice for SA. He may not have caused my
daughter's tragic death, but he didn't help. He was mean and cruel to her up to and including her
last day on this Earth. I am not a "widow" or "orphan' as is mentioned in Scripture, but I am a
grieving mother. I cry out to God in my pain for Divine Justice. Not out of revenge, but that he
changes his life to glorify God and honor her memory. We don't want to see this done to another
girl. And an apology to her parents would be appreciated. He is Catholic and received his
Sacraments, so I believe he should know better. And please help me to have the strength to forgive
him, as that is becoming more difficult by the day.

Pope Benedict XVI, Shepherd of Truth
http://presentationministries.com/BST/bst2011-09.asp?navlink=latest

Notable quotations from Pope Benedict XVI and official
teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

FAITH AND DISCIPLESHIP

WITNESS FOR JESUS

Friendship with Jesus will...lead you to bear witness to the faith wherever you are, even when
it meets with rejection or indifference.

SHARE THE JOY

...Do not keep Christ to yourselves! Share with others the joy of your faith. The world needs
the witness of your faith, it surely needs God.

SURRENDER TO GOD

Faith does not simply provide information about Who Christ is; rather, it entails a personal
relationship with Christ, a surrender of our whole person with all our understanding, will and
feelings, to God's self-revelation.
