PM eNewsletter 3rd Sunday of Advent

December 11th, 3rd Sunday of Advent

This week, oh! Christ, Your church celebrates another great feast of Your mother and ours.

The feast of "Our Lady of Guadalupe", is important because it shows Mary's care for the down
trodden people.

She appeared to Juan Diego and gave him a message of love.

And so we thank You, Jesus, for Your mother and her loving care.

Jesus, continue to prepare us to give You the Christmas present You want us to give You.

And help us to know what that is.

Amen and Amen.

Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday DRESS FOR SUCCESS
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=12/11/2011

"I rejoice heartily in the Lord, in my God is the joy of my soul." -Isaiah 61:10

The third Sunday of Advent is called Gaudete Sunday, or Rejoice Sunday. Turn off the football
games; put off that trip to the mall; set aside the Christmas decorations. It's time to
"rejoice in the Lord"! (Phil 4:4)

On Christmas, many people receive various articles of clothing as presents: ties, socks,
sweaters, and warm winter clothes. Today, God has better clothes to give us: garments of
praise. He puts a crown on our heads to cast off grief (Is 61:3). To get us in that Christmas
rejoicing spirit, God gives us a shirt of justice and a robe of salvation (Is 61:10). He
gives us a winter coat, a "glorious mantle" which gets rid of any "listless spirit" of
complacency over Jesus' Christmas coming (Is 61:3). Because it is God Who gives us these
garments of praise, everything is just the right size. Our rejoicing clothes are custom-made
by God to fit perfectly. Now, with Mary, we can sing: "My spirit finds joy in God my Savior"
(Lk 1:47).

When Jesus comes this Christmas, we must be wearing the right clothes to greet Him. Once
Jesus told a parable about the heavenly wedding feast. A man was found who was "not properly
dressed" (Mt 22:11). He was cast outside, to wail and grind his teeth for eternity. So, we'll
be making noise forever. Will we be wailing in hell or rejoicing in heaven? Decide today. Put
on God's clothes and "rejoice heartily in the Lord" (Is 61:10).

Monday THE CONQUERING QUEEN-MOTHER
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=12/12/2011

"Blest are you among women and blest is the Fruit of your womb. But who am I that the mother
of my Lord should come to me?" -Luke 1:42-43

Tuesday BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=12/13/2011

"But afterward he regretted it and went." -Matthew 21:30

Lord, I come to you in Thanksgiving for all you have given me -- all the prayers that have been
answered whether I know it or not. I know I am weak, but the pain I am in is so great I can
hardly survive it. Please God, I am begging for Divine Justice for SA. He may not have caused my
daughter's tragic death, but he didn't help. He was mean and cruel to her up to and including her
last day on this Earth. I am not a "widow" or "orphan' as is mentioned in Scripture, but I am a
grieving mother. I cry out to God in my pain for Divine Justice. Not out of revenge, but that he
changes his life to glorify God and honor her memory. We don't want to see this done to another
girl. And an apology to her parents would be appreciated. He is Catholic and received his
Sacraments, so I believe he should know better. And please help me to have the strength to forgive
him, as that is becoming more difficult by the day.

Pope Benedict XVI, Shepherd of Truth
http://presentationministries.com/BST/bst2011-12.asp?navlink=latest

Notable quotations from Pope Benedict XVI and official
teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

THE JOURNEY OF FAITH

"ALWAYS OPEN"

The "door of faith" (Acts 14:27) is always open for us, ushering us into the life of communion with
God and offering entry into His Church.

"TRANSFORMING GRACE"

It is possible to cross that threshold when the word of God is proclaimed and the heart allows
itself to be shaped by transforming grace.

LIFETIME JOURNEY

To enter through that door is to set out on a journey that lasts a lifetime. It begins with
baptism...and it ends with the passage through death to eternal life...
