March 10th, 2013 the fourth Sunday of Lent.
Jesus, help us to truly have a change of heart this Lenten season.
Have it change us into what You want us to become.
Jesus, sometimes we become too worldly, in our thoughts and actions,
and this draws us away from You.
We don't mean to, but we let the world stop us from giving You all
the honor and glory that You so truly deserve.
Help us to focus on You, and let all our thoughts start with, what
can I do to please God? will this action give Him glory?
Jesus increase our faith.
Amen and Amen.
Thanks to You, Lord, for loving us totally.

Sunday LENTEN REBELLION AND REPENTANCE

"For our sakes God made Him Who did not know sin, to be sin, so that in Him we might become the
very holiness of God." -2 Corinthians 5:21
St. Luke is the only Evangelist who includes the parable of the prodigal son. Luke was also the
only Gentile Christian to author a Gospel. Most of us reading this reflection are also gentile
(non-Jewish) Christians; possibly we feel a special connection to this Gospel. Sadly, we assuredly
relate to this parable as representative of many dysfunctional families in our midst. "The younger
of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the share of the estate that is coming to me.' So the
father divided up the property. Some days later this younger son collected all his belongings and
went off to a distant land, where he squandered his money on dissolute living" (Lk 15:12-13). We
may not be anticipating a large inheritance, but selfishness and self-centeredness run rampant in
our culture. How many of us have insulted both our fathers and our Father along the way?
As baptized Christians, however, there is no need to lose heart. "If anyone is in Christ, he is a
new creation. The old order has passed away; now all is new!" (2 Cor 5:17; cf Rv 21:5) As
Catholics, we are blessed to have the Sacrament of Reconciliation. "All this has been done by God,
Who has reconciled us to Himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation"
(2 Cor 5:18; cf Mt 16:19).
Come back home to your heavenly Father, Who has long been looking for you (Lk 15:20). Repent, and
cause all heaven to rejoice! (Lk 15:7, 10)
Prayer: "I will break away and return to my Father" (Lk 15:18).
Promise: "I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears." -Ps 34:5
Praise: Praise Jesus, the Healer of the blind and the Raiser from the dead!

Pope John Paul II has taught: "The Holy Spirit, while bestowing diverse ministries in Church
communion, enriches it still further with particular gifts or promptings of grace, called

and also on the part of the entire Church. They are in fact a singularly rich source of grace
for the vitality of the apostolate and for the holiness of the whole Body of Christ

Pope John Paul II has also taught: "The Spirit of Jesus, received by the humble and docile
heart of the believer, brings about the flourishing of Christian moral life and the witness
of holiness amid the great variety of vocations, gifts, responsibilities, conditions and life
situations. As Novatian once pointed out - here expressing the authentic faith of the Church - it
is the Holy Spirit 'who confirmed the hearts and minds of the disciples, who revealed the
mysteries of the Gospel, who shed upon them the light of things divine. Strengthened by his gift,
they did not fear either prisons or chains for the name of the Lord; indeed they even trampled
upon the powers and torments of the world, armed and strengthened by him, having in themselves
the gifts which this same Spirit bestows and directs like jewels to the Church, the Bride of
Christ. It is in fact he who raises up prophets in the Church, instructs teachers, guides
tongues, works wonders and healings, accomplishes miracles, grants the discernment of spirits,
assigns governance, inspires counsels, distributes and harmonizes every other charismatic gift'
" (The Splendor of Truth, 108).

I have just retired after 34+ of service in a managerial position and on the threshold of a new
phase of life. I seek God's will for my life together with his abundant graces, blessings,
strength, courage, wisdom to deal with the present situation I am placed in - specially coping
with my husband's many and pressing health issues and ensuring he keeps a strict monitored diet
which is so essential for his condition without his feeling that I am nagging or imposing upon
him. For both of us to come to terms that we need to give each other time and space to grow
spiritually and emotionally during this phase. Mary Mother of grace and mercy lead us to your
son Jesus. All you angels and saints, our guardian angels, holy souls in purgatory please
intercede for us. Amen

New Technology for Bible Telephone Line Ministry
Local Numbers Double Practically Overnight!
The Bible Telephone Line (BTL) has been in operation for 19 years. Begun by Fr. Al
in 1991, it now continues with three teachers trained by him and by Presentation
Ministries. In cities where local numbers have been established, the BTL provides
callers with a short teaching on the readings for the daily Mass. It is available 24
hours a day and 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a short prayer request which
will be shared on the line with the other callers the next day.
