March 8th Third Sunday of Lent
Jesus, help us to truly have a change of heart this Lenten season.
Have it change us into what You want us to become.
Jesus, sometimes we become too worldly, in our thoughts and actions,
and this draws us away from You.
We don't mean to, but we let the world stop us from giving You all
the honor and glory that You so truly deserve.
Help us to focus on You, and let all our thoughts start with, what
can I do to please God? will this action give Him glory?
Jesus increase our faith.
Amen and Amen.
Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

Sunday JESUS, BINGO, LOTTERY, AND RAFFLES

"In the temple precincts He came upon people engaged in selling oxen,
sheep and doves, and others seated changing coins." -John 2:14
As I write this, on a Sunday morning, we will soon celebrate Mass. The
ushers are busily collecting money and lighting candles. Before Mass,
there will be announcements. The first announcement will be about the
$200 door prize for bingo this afternoon. During Mass, we will not
preach because the bishop has a tape on the archdiocesan fund drive.
After Mass, there will be two groups at the door. One will sell our
monthly church lottery tickets. The other will sell tickets on hams
which will be raffled off at our Lenten fund-raiser. (Yes, you read
correctly.)
Everything that I have just said is literally true. As I write, all of
these appeals are being made in less than one hour to those going to
church here this Sunday morning in Lent. Don't get me wrong. I'm not
out to criticize the dedicated people of this parish. But is Jesus
pleased with this? Can you imagine Jesus calling bingo or raffling off
hams to support His ministry?
Jesus said and says: "Get them out of here! Stop turning my Father's
house into a marketplace!" (Jn 2:16) "He made a [kind of] whip of
cords and drove sheep and oxen alike out of the temple area, and
knocked over the money-changers' tables, spilling their coins"
(Jn 2:15).
Prayer: Lord, have mercy.
Promise: "Christ [is] the Power of God and the Wisdom of God. For God's
folly is wiser than men, and His weakness more powerful than men."
-1 Cor 1:24-25
Praise: Praise Jesus, Who is the Lion of Judah (Rv 5:5) and turns the
tables on all of us.

Pray for the restoration of my marriage. That I continue to transform
into the husband and father that my family needs with the help of God.
That. My wife will not harden her heart and her soul will be saved.
That she will no longer be deceived by those who are giving her
counsel to divorce, that she recognizes that they are serving their
own selfish needs and not hers or the children. Amen

Holy Father, our life is getting so rough. The SSI is keeping our tax
returns. We maybe missed a month but we always sent it in the next....
2 payments the month we missed and that month. My doctor who lost his
practice due to having sex with some of his patients has turned my
bill into collections...he wouldn't take my Medicaid but he had money
to buy his girlfriends gifts. I'm bitter...I'm sorry, please forgive
me. We can either pay bills and do without enough food for 2 weeks or
we can eat and get behind on our bills. We're behind on property taxes.
Tires need to be replaced in order to pass inspection. I see no way
out. I'm always depressed. Physically unable to work. My husband works
himself to death. Please help us Father. Depression is getting the
best of me. I ask all my fellow Christians to please pray for us. In
Jesus name I pray.

Our Blessed Lady said to St. Dominic "One day through the Rosary and
the Scapular I will save the world." Let us pray for guidance from Our
Blessed Lady and ask for Her intercession.Mother, now that the need is
at its greatest and the powers of darkness seem to have free rein, we
come to You with childlike trust and implore Your powerful aid. We
consecrate ourselves to You. Preserve us in the love of Your Son,
protect us from the evil of this world and lead us safe to the heart
of God. Amen To wear the Scapular (as directed) is to consecrate
ourselves to Our Blessed Lady. With our Scapular and Rosary let us
unite our prayers to Our Blessed Lady and ask for Her intercession to
".save the world."

Please pray for me... In God's will, please pray for reconsideration
approval of my pension disability without the need of court appearance.
I can't afford a lawyer and I'm terrified to represent myself in court.
After 2 surgeries and 10 epidural injections I'm still in pain. Please
pray for the people who decide to see the truth in my medical records.
I believe what I'm going through right now is not a test of my faith,
but rather this is an opportunity to strengthen my faith. Amen.

Heavenly Father thank you for all the Blessings,please guide us with
your Holy spirit as we go along with our work.Lord please help my

Fear is useless. LORD please look kindly on the petitions posted and
all the requests said silently in our hearts. Through JESUS all things
are possible. We need to pray. Through JESUS our sins are forgive. We
need to ask for forgiveness. Through the FATHER all things came to us.
We are guests in this world. We need to be thankful. Thank you LORD
please forgive this sinner.

New Technology for Bible Telephone Line Ministry
Local Numbers Double Practically Overnight!
The Bible Telephone Line (BTL) has been in operation for 24 years. Begun by Fr. Al
in 1991, it now continues with three teachers trained by him and by Presentation
Ministries. In cities where local numbers have been established, the BTL provides
callers with a short teaching on the readings for the daily Mass. It is available 24
hours a day and 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a short prayer request which
will be shared on the line with the other callers the next day.
