My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

As it has been written,
"Come after Me and I will make you fishers of men."
—Matthew 4:19
"Stay with this task whether convenient or inconvenient
— correcting, reproving, appealing — constantly teaching
and never losing patience" (2 Tm 4:2).

My editorial ministry is to spread the word of Christ through
Presentation Ministries to all that will hear. We, you and I,
are part of a family of over 4000 readers around the world. I
ask, why not 8000? Will you help and share this
eNewsletter with at least one friend in Christ, today, now?
Share with them how different your life has become since
focusing on the Word, daily.

Then encourage them to join us at Presentation Ministries
for the weekly eNewsletter and the daily readings and

March 9th, the fifth Sunday of Lent.

Jesus, Your church this week honors a man who is so
deserving of all the honor he can get.

Your foster father, Joseph.

The quiet rock who guided You and mom, through the
early years.

The man who gave up everything to be Your earthly father
and mentor.

A man who wanted only to love mom and You.

Jesus, please give us a sharing in Joseph's heart.

Let us desire to know, love, and serve You with all of our
being, and honor Mary, our mother, as the ultimate
example of a mom.

Let us see that only one thing is necessary, and that is
to love You and others.

Jesus, give us the grace through Your Eucharist to focus
all of our energy to the task of love.

Let us walk side by side with Joseph as he led You and
mom.

Let us see that the only thing that is really important is
that we have a focus on You, and then to pray, and ask
You to use us as You need us.

Let us be quiet workers for You and the eternal kingdom
of God.

Let us guide others to You, and let us be Your rock.
Amen and Amen.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday RESURRECTIONS

http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=3/9/2008

"I am the Resurrection and the Life: whoever believes in Me,
though he should die, will come to life; and whoever is alive
and believes in Me will never die." —John 11:25-26

How strong is your faith that the Holy Spirit will raise your
body from the dead on the last day? (Rm 8:11) Do you believe
your spirit will be raised at your death to meet the Lord and
go to heaven? Do you believe Jesus still raises people from
the dead, as He raised Lazarus from the dead?
(Jn 11:44; Mt 10:8) Do you believe Jesus' resurrection can
transform your life now?

Jesus' resurrection is a promise of the resurrection of the
bodies and spirits of all His disciples. Jesus continues to
raise Lazaruses as proofs of His resurrection and previews
of ours. Jesus' past resurrection and our future resurrection
should overshadow our present circumstances. Risen life
begins when we believe in the risen Lord, not when we die.
All the resurrections go together. The resurrection is past,
present, and future. The resurrection is physical and
spiritual. The resurrection is historical, personal, and
eschatological.

We are a resurrection people, or more precisely a
resurrections-people. In these next two weeks, prepare to
celebrate the resurrection with a faith and joy that is
unexplainable except for those who have met the risen Christ.

O, THE BLOOD OF JESUS!
"It is in Christ and through His blood that we have been
redeemed and our sins forgiven." (Ephesians 1:7)

Picture Jesus hanging on the cross, blood coming out of
His nailed hands and feet, blood dripping down His face
from His thorn-crowned head, blood seeping out His
shredded back after having been whipped and scourged.
One drop of the blood of Jesus can wash away every sin
that has, or will be committed. One drop of the blood of
Jesus can wash away wars, nuclear bombing, holocausts,
abortion, hatred, and racial prejudice. The only thing that
can keep our sins from being forgiven is our refusal to
repent and confess them.

Pope Benedict XVI

Confession brings us the joy of God's forgiveness, says
the Holy Father
http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/new.php?n=12005

Vatican City, Mar 7, 2008 / 11:25 am (CNA).- In one of
several audiences today, Pope Benedict XVI addressed
members of the Apostolic Penitentiary on the state of
Confession and lamented that today the world "is losing the
notion of sin".

The Pope made his remarks to a group of prelates that is
participating in a week-long seminar on the "internal forum",
that is to say, questions of conscience.

"What is needed today is to ensure that people who
confess experience that divine tenderness for penitent
sinners which so many Gospel episodes express with
intense emotion", he told the priests.

Referring to the episode of the sinful woman in the
Gospel of Luke, the Pope highlighted "the eloquent
message that emerges from this Gospel passage: to
those who love much God forgives everything. Those who
trust in themselves and in their own merits are, as it were,
blinded by their own 'I' and their hearts harden in sin. On
the other hand, those who recognize themselves as weak
and sinful entrust themselves to God and from Him obtain
grace and forgiveness. ... What is most important is to
make it clear that in the Sacrament of Penance - whatever
the sin committed - if sinners recognize it humbly and
entrust themselves to the priest confessor, they will
always experience the soothing joy of God's forgiveness".

The Pontiff also touched on "a certain disaffection" that
exists today around the ......................

Pope Benedict XVI, Shepherd of Truth

Notable quotations from Pope Benedict XVI and official
teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

LENT 2008

"TRUE LIFE"

In giving alms, we offer something material, a sign of the
greater gift we can impart to others through the announcement
and witness of Christ, in Whose name is found true life.

"A PROVIDENTIAL OPPORTUNITY"

Lent offers us a providential opportunity to deepen the meaning
and value of our Christian lives, and it stimulates us to
rediscover the mercy of God so that we, in turn, become more
merciful toward our brothers and sisters.
