PM eNewsletter the Most Holy Trinity

May 18th, the Most Holy Trinity

Today oh! Christ, we celebrate a great mystery of unconditional love.

The Trinity, a mystery that calls us to trust, and have faith, in the
knowledge that this loving God has given Himself to us, for our
individual growth and corporate growth of the Church.

The mystery of God's Love, and all of His actions, are worthy of us
meditating upon them every day, as we sit in awe of such a great
gift as the Triune God.

Let us be astounded that God loves us so much that He wants us
to be His, really, and truly.

Let us be astounded that His plan will work our perfectly for all those,
who to the best of their ability, walk in His ways.

Let us praise and glorify this unconditional Lover, our God, Amen and Amen

Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday TRIPLE PLAY
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=5/18/2008

"Moses at once bowed down to the ground in worship." —Exodus 34:8

A bishop was examining the candidates for Confirmation
at a certain parish. He asked the young people to tell him
what the Holy Trinity was. A boy answered: "It's one-in-three,
and three-in-one." The bishop, gently probing to determine
if the boy truly prepared for the sacrament, said: "That's
good, but I don't understand." The youth immediately
responded: "You're not supposed to!"

We can't ever grasp the how of the Holy Trinity, but we can
know the Who. This is because God continually reveals
Himself to us. "Yes, God so loved the world that He gave
His only Son" (Jn 3:16) "to reveal" Himself more fully to us
(Lk 10:22). The Father and the Son pour out Their love into
our hearts through the Holy Spirit (Rm 5:5), Who constantly
reminds us that we are now adopted children of God
(Rm 8:15). Then the Holy Spirit helps us to know the Father
so deeply that we can't help but "cry out, 'Abba!' (that is,
'Father')" (Rm 8:15; Gal 4:6).

When our heads start spinning in this cross-fire of
Trinitarian love, we can respond as did Moses, bowing to
the ground in worship (Ex 34:8). Rejoice exultantly with all
the saints and angels, praising God "in the name 'of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit' " (Mt 28:19).

Monday WISDOM TEETH

"Forgive as the Lord has forgiven you." —Colossians 3:13

When I was first ordained a priest, I believed that over 50 percent
of all problems were at least in part due to unforgiveness. After
ten years in ministry, I revised my estimate and maintained 75 to
80 percent of all health, marital, family, and financial problems
came from unforgiveness. Now, after more than twenty years in
ministry, I have concluded that over 90 percent of all problems
are rooted in unforgiveness.

THE NECESSITY OF FORGIVENESS
If most problems come from unforgiveness, we can understand
why Jesus emphasizes forgiveness to an extreme degree. When
Peter suggested to Jesus that we should forgive seven times, he
was correct (Mt 18:21). "Seven" in the Bible stands for an
indefinite number of times; so Peter was saying ............

Pope Benedict XVI

Vatican
Abortion has solved nothing, only inflicted deeper wounds on
society, Pope laments
http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/new.php?n=12613

Vatican City, May 12, 2008 / 11:05 am (CNA).- Thousands of
members of the Italian Movement for Life met with
Pope Benedict in the Hall of Blessing on Monday morning.
The Pope remarked that 30 years of abortion in Italy "not only
has not resolved the problems afflicting many women and no
small number of families, but it has opened another wound in
our societies."

The Movement for Life, which is led by Carlo Casini, is
currently promoting a number of initiatives on the 30th
anniversary of the legalization of abortion in Italy.

Benedict XVI noted that protecting human dignity is
exceedingly more challenging than 30 years ago. "We
cannot but recognize that, in practical terms, defending
human life has become more difficult today, because a
mentality has been created that progressively devalues
human life and entrusts it to the judgment of individuals."

The consequence of this thinking ......................

Vatican
Church must protect migrant families, strengthen marriage,
Holy Father maintains
http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/new.php?n=12650

Vatican City, May 15, 2008 / 10:23 am (CNA).- Today
the Pope received participants in the plenary assembly
of the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants
and Itinerant Peoples to reflect upon the theme: "The
emigrant and itinerant family." He called on them to
continue caring for migrant families, but also used the
opportunity to emphasize the importance of marriage
and family.

While reaffirming that the Church's care for "emigrant
families does not diminish her concern for itinerant families,"
he also stressed that all families "represent the original
cell of society" and it "must not be destroyed but
courageously and patiently defended." This must be
done because the family is where "we are formed to
adore and love God, learning the grammar of human
and moral values, and discovering how to make good
use of freedom in truth," the Pope said. He also
acknowledged that this is not an easy task, especially
"in cases of people affected by the phenomenon of human
mobility."

Pope Benedict then turned his attention to ......................

Pope Benedict XVI, Shepherd of Truth

Notable quotations from Pope Benedict XVI and official
teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

THE MEDIA

DEFEND HUMAN PERSON
It is essential that social communications should assiduously
defend the person and fully respect human dignity.

"TRUE SCOURGES"
The media must avoid becoming spokesmen for economic
materialism and ethical relativism, true scourges of our time.

DEFEND THE TRUTH
Instead they can and must contribute to making known the
truth about humanity, and defending it against those who
tend to deny or destroy it.
