God Bless you and all you care for.
The editor

Nov. 2nd All souls day

Jesus, thank You giving us Your church to guide us to the truth.

Today Jesus, we celebrate all those who have gone before us,
and are either already in heaven or are in purgatory.

Jesus, help us to pray for those in purgatory, that we may
help to get them into the never ending eternal light of the Triune God.

Jesus, as we pray now for them, so will they pray for us,
when we need the cleasing and purging of purgatory.

Help us to have masses said for all of the souls that need
the graces. Amen and Amen

Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday CATHOLIC OR CULTURAL?
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=11/2/2008

"If he were not expecting the fallen to rise again, it would have
been useless and foolish to pray for them in death. But if he
did this with a view to the splendid reward that awaits those
who had gone to rest in godliness, it was a holy and pious
thought." —2 Maccabees 12:44-45

The writer of second Maccabees assumed that praying for
the dead was an accepted practice (2 Mc 12:44-45). He
presented this practice as an argument to show the truth of
the resurrection of the dead. Paul also assumed that praying
for the dead, even baptizing them by proxy, was
unquestionably accepted. Like the writer of second
Maccabees, he used this practice to support the validity
of the Lord's promise to raise us from the dead (1 Cor 15:29).
We know from early Christian history that those called by
the Lord to write the New Testament believed we should
pray for the dead. The reason they didn't write extensively
in the New Testament about purgatory and praying for the
dead was not because they didn't believe it, but because
no Christian disbelieved these things.

Now we must decide if we are going to see the truths of
divine revelation as they are or with the blinders of our
culture. Are we going to be "cultural Christians," or are we
going to be truly "catholic" and transcend the limitations
of our culture? Let's not allow our culture to filter out part
of the truth of God's revelation. Let's have the mind of
Christ (1 Cor 2:16), His Church, and the Bible. Let's serve
in prayer some of our dead brothers and sisters. Let's
believe that Jesus' resurrection prevents even death from
separating us from Him and our brothers and sisters in Him.
"All are alive for Him" (Lk 20:38).

THE OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME

"O God, you are my God Whom I seek; for You my flesh

"In the most blessed sacrament of the Eucharist 'the body
and blood, together with the soul and divinity, of our Lord
Jesus Christ, therefore, the whole Christ is truly, really and
substantially contained'" (Catechism, 1374).

Jesus' flesh is real food; His blood real drink (Jn 6:55). He
lives in us, and we in Him (Jn 6:56). Therefore, to receive
Jesus in Holy Communion is one of the greatest privileges
possible for a human being. Communion is the highlight
of our days and the center of our lives.

Many believe this, for at this moment thousands in the

Pope Benedict XVI, Shepherd of Truth

Notable quotations from Pope Benedict XVI and official
teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

ST. PAUL, MISSION AND MIGRANTS

"THE SAME APPROACH"

Today too the message of salvation must be presented
with the same approach as that of the Apostle to the
Gentiles, taking into account the different social and
cultural situations and special difficulties of each one as
a consequence of his or her condition as a migrant or
itinerant person.

"THE SAME APOSTOLIC ZEAL"

I express the wish that every Christian community may
feel the same apostolic zeal as St. Paul... May his
example also be an incentive for us to show solidarity
to these brothers and sisters of ours and to promote, in
every part of the world and by every means, peaceful
coexistence among different races, cultures and religions.

"LET US NOT TIRE"

Let us not tire of proclaiming and witnessing to this
"Good News" with enthusiasm, without fear and sparing
no energy! The entire Gospel message is condensed in
love, and authentic disciples of Christ are recognized by
the mutual love they bear one another by their acceptance
of all.
