PM eNewsletter Second Sunday of Advent

December 5th Second Sunday of Advent

Merciful Jesus, Your plan of our redemption is about to start with
the Immaculate Conception of Mary our Mother.

This week, we celebrate this feast and so start to prepare for Your
coming among us.

Jesus, let us be in awe of how You prepared the perfect "ark of the
new covenant" through Mary.

Mary was sinless from conception and always stayed sinless.

We, who are sinners, fall far short of truly being really worthy of Your love.

Yet, You loved us so much that You became one of us to carry all of
our sins to the cross.

Jesus, help us to truly be repentent for our sins, help us to get to
confession and amend our ways.

Amen and Amen.

Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday "THIS BUD'S FOR YOU"
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=12/5/2010

"A Shoot shall sprout from the stump of Jesse, and from his roots
a Bud shall blossom." -Isaiah 11:1

The Church prepares us for Christ's Christmas coming by using the
Biblical image of a felled tree and the remaining stump. However,
this is not the image of a Christmas tree; the toppled tree
symbolizes destruction and the stump symbolizes total destruction.
John the Baptizer threatened: "Every tree that is not fruitful will be
cut down and thrown into the fire" (Mt 3:10). Isaiah prophesied:
"Behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, lops off the boughs with
terrible violence; the tall of stature are felled, and the lofty ones
brought low; the forest thickets are felled with the axe" (Is 10:33-34).
Then Isaiah immediately added that a Shoot, a Bud, would blossom
from the stump.

No matter if whole branches of our lives have been sawed off
through divorce, abuse, rejection, failure, or injustice - no matter
if we have been chain-sawed and there is nothing left of our lives
but a stump and sawdust - there's still hope. The Hope is a Shoot,
a Bud, upon Whom the Spirit of the Lord rests (Is 11:2). The budding
Hope is the One more powerful than John the Baptizer and the One
Who baptizes "in the Holy Spirit and fire" (Mt 3:11).

If the words of Ash Wednesday have come true and you have
returned to dust, even sawdust, don't despair. For every stump,
there's the Bud, Jesus.

Monday PARALYSIS
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=12/6/2010

"Some men came along carrying a paralytic." -Luke 5:18

Tuesday HEARING VOICES
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=12/7/2010

"Comfort, give comfort to My people, says your God. Speak tenderly
to Jerusalem." -Isaiah 40:1-2

PM Internet Prayer Requests
http://www.presentationministries.com/prayer/prayer.asp

My son @ 16 came to me and said to lock up the computers tight
as he was looking at porn. His name is Matthew meaning "gift
from God" and it is true, he has an amazing personality but got
sucked in and I'm proud of him telling me. He's going to make an
appointment for confession. Pray that he realizes that only Jesus
can take this away, not his efforts alone, I think he doesn't
realize this.

Pope Benedict XVI, Shepherd of Truth
http://presentationministries.com/BST/bst2010-11.asp?navlink=latest

Notable quotations from Pope Benedict XVI and official
teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

MARY, MOTHER OF GOD

A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

With the Incarnation ... God drew us into Himself and God in
Himself is the relationship which allows us to participate in His
interior relationship. Thus we are in His being Father, Son and
Holy Spirit, we are within His being in relationship, we are in
relationship with Him and He truly created a relationship with us.

"MOTHER OF THE CHURCH"

... The Mother of God ... is the Mother of the Church, because
she is the Mother of the One Who came to unite all in His
resurrected Body.

CHRIST EMBRACES US

... From the believing Church, with Mary at its heart, is born the
Church, the Body of Christ. This dual birth is the only birth of ...
Christ Who embraces the world and all of us.
