October 29th 30th Sunday in ordinary time.
Jesus, it is good for us to pray for all those who have
died and gone before us.
Give us the inspiration to pray especially for those in
purgatory who have no one to pray for them.
Let us be aware that those in purgatory depend on
us to get them into the glory of heaven through our
prayers, masses, and the charitable acts that we do
for there release.
Jesus, continue to grace us to understand that our
brothers and sisters who have gone before us have
changed into eternal beings that are now in the
communion of saints forever and ever.
Amen and Amen.
Thanks to You, Lord, for loving us totally.

Sunday PRAY TO SEE TO PRAY TO SEE

"I want to see." -Mark 10:51
The apostles twice saw Jesus multiply the loaves and the fish, but they did not see
the significance of these miracles. In His frustration, Jesus exclaimed to them: "Do
you still not see or comprehend? Are your minds completely blinded? Have you eyes but
no sight?" (Mk 8:17-18) The apostles were spiritually blind not only to the
significance of Jesus' miracles, but also to the significance of Jesus Himself. They
were blind to the necessity of the cross (see Mk 8:31-33).
Jesus tried to begin to correct the apostles' vision by means of His Transfiguration
before three apostles (see Mk 9:2ff). This did not succeed, as the apostles continued
to be blinded to the Lord's revelations of the cross (see Mk 9:31-32). Next, the Lord
healed the blind Bartimaeus physically. He hoped that the apostles might learn from
Bartimaeus to pray: "Rabboni, I want to see" (see Mk 10:51). However, that didn't
work either. Even Jesus' crucifixion, death, and resurrection didn't open the
apostles' eyes. Finally, two disciples' eyes were opened in the breaking of the bread
on the afternoon of Jesus' resurrection (Lk 24:31). Then, with the coming of the Holy
Spirit at Pentecost, many eyes were opened.
Jesus' disciples finally saw the significance of Jesus' Transfiguration and the
healing of blind Bartimaeus. The disciples saw the need to pray: "I want to see"
(Mk 10:51), and the Church was born.
Prayer: Father, may I see my blindness so that I can pray to see.
Promise: "Behold, I will bring them back from the land of the north; I will gather
them from the ends of the world, with the blind and the lame in their midst, the
mothers and those with child; they shall return as an immense throng." -Jer 31:8
Praise: Praise Jesus, our risen Lord and Love! He has taken "His seat at the right
hand of the Majesty in heaven, as far superior to the angels as the name He has
inherited is superior to theirs" (Heb 1:3-4). Alleluia!

We unite our prayer on day 32 of the 40 Days For Life campaign and in addition to pray for the
upcoming elections in the U.S. with all the rosaries, masses, novena and time before the
Blessed Sacrament said in the U.S. and around the world. As we begin this year of Faith, let
us pray for an increase in Faith for U.S. Mother, now that the need is at its greatest and the
powers of darkness seem to have free rein, we come to You with childlike trust and implore Your
powerful aid. We consecrate ourselves to You. Preserve us in the love of Your Son, protect us

Local Numbers Double Practically Overnight!
The Bible Telephone Line (BTL) has been in operation for 19 years. Begun by Fr. Al
in 1991, it now continues with three teachers trained by him and by Presentation
Ministries. In cities where local numbers have been established, the BTL provides
callers with a short teaching on the readings for the daily Mass. It is available 24
hours a day and 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a short prayer request which
will be shared on the line with the other callers the next day.
