PM eNewsletter Third Sunday of Easter

April 6th, Third Sunday of Easter

Jesus, in todays gospel we hear You explaining how You had
to suffer and so enter into Your Glory.

Jesus, please help us to see that in our suffering we can also
enter into glorious union with You.

We offer our suffering to You to give it to the Father and have
it come back as grace for those we are praying for.

Let us see that all that happens to us can be for the good of
others and ourselves.

Lord, help us be at peace with You when we are in pain,
especially in the still of the night.

Lord, let us see as St. Paul said, that "we must suffer for
what is lacking in the body of Christ the Church."

Let us not complain but rather give You glory, honor, and praise.

Jesus, let us see that You are really in charge and that
nothing happens to us that You are not fully aware of.

Jesus, let us realize that we are truly part of Your plan to
help others and so help ourselves. Amen and Amen.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday THE MASS OF THE RESURRECTION

http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=4/6/2008

"Then they recounted what had happened on the road and
how they had come to know Him in the breaking of bread." —Luke 24:35

On the afternoon of the day on which Jesus rose from the
dead, the risen Lord gave us the pattern for Christian worship.
We begin with the liturgy of the word. We walk about seven
miles with Jesus as He interprets for us "every passage of
Scripture which referred to Him" (Lk 24:27). This causes our
hearts to burn and be purified (Lk 24:32). Then our eyes are
opened to recognize the risen Christ in the breaking of the
bread (Lk 24:31).

However, our worship is not over yet. Following the liturgy
of the Eucharist, we get up immediately, return to the
circumstances of our everyday lives, and recount what has
happened to us and how we came to know Jesus "in the
breaking of bread" (Lk 24:33, 35). We spread the gospel
of God so that those who believe our message "may be
offered up as a pleasing sacrifice, consecrated by the
Holy Spirit" (Rm 15:16).

Our major way of worshipping God is called "Mass," that
is, "Sent." When we worship the Lord in Spirit and truth
(Jn 4:24), we not only receive God's word and
Holy Communion, we also are sent forth to proclaim the
good news. For a complete Mass in the pattern of the
risen Jesus, we must go when we are sent and then offer
up "as a pleasing sacrifice" those who accept the gospel
we share (Rm 15:16). May we make our Mass true to its
name.

Monday STAYING FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT

http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=4/7/2008

"The Stephen already spoken of was a man filled with
grace and power, who worked great wonders and signs
among the people." —Acts 6:8

Tuesday CLOAK AND DAGGER

http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=4/8/2008

"You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears,
you are always opposing the Holy Spirit just as your fathers
did before you." —Acts 7:51

"Why do you search for the Living One among the dead?
He is not here; He has been raised up." —Luke 24:5-6

Alleluia! Jesus is risen! He's alive! "O death, where is your
victory? O death, where is your sting?" (1 Cor 15:55) We as
Christians have personally had the most overwhelming
experience imaginable. The One Who loves us so much, Who
would do anything for us, was brutally murdered by crucifixion.
To have a loved one die is traumatic enough without it being a
violent murder. Amazingly, this Victim came out of the grave
on the third day. We who love Him are transformed from a
shattered life to victory, from weeping to joy, and from
mourning to dancing (Ps 30:6, 12). Imagine a dead parent,
spouse, or friend walking in the room right now. This would be
a shadow of what happens when we meet the risen Christ.

We may think we cannot meet the risen Jesus because His
body is no longer with us but is ascended to the right hand
of the Father. This is irrelevant. The physical body of the risen
Christ had little effect on those that encountered Him.
Mary Magdalene thought He was the gardener (Jn 20:15). The
two disciples on the road to Emmaus walked about seven
miles with Him and still did not recognize His glorified
body (Mk 16:12). What they did notice was their hearts
burning as Jesus explained the Scriptures to them (Lk 24:32).
This was the beginning of meeting the risen
Lord (Lk 24:8; Jn 20:9). Then, together with the
breaking of ..............................

I ask GOD and you my brothers and sisters, to pray with
me, my son has been in prison for 10 months, and I am in
a severe depression, I do suffer from bipolar disorder, I can
not pull my self out of it this time, I should be thanking our
LORD for keeping my son alive, as his prison stay is
because of his drug addiction, I am truly blessed. I know
the evil one is at work. I've been praying and talking to GOD
many times a day. I know also that I should be offering up

In your charity, could you please keep Serena Conn in
your prayers. She is in surgery as we speak with
endometriosis(?) wrapped around almost everything else
in that area. She will be in the hospital for a few days.
Even when she comes home, she has 2 handicapped
boys that love her to death and are used to big hugs and
sitting on moms lap for reading, which would be very
dangerous for her. Pray for the whole family, as this will
be a stressful time for all. May God Bless you all for
your prayers.

Pope Benedict XVI, Shepherd of Truth

Notable quotations from Pope Benedict XVI and official
teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

VOCATIONS AND MISSION

"CALLED TO BEAR WITNESS"

The Church is missionary in herself and in each of her
members. Through the sacraments of Baptism and
Confirmation, every Christian is called to bear witness
and to announce the Gospel, but this missionary
dimension is associated in a special and intimate way
with the priestly vocation.

THE IMPELLING LOVE OF CHRIST

In the beginning, and thereafter, what "impels" the
Apostles ... is always the "love of Christ".
