NEED A LIFT?

"When you lift up the Son of Man..." —John 8:28

When the Son of Man is lifted up, Jesus will draw all people to Himself
(Jn 12:32) so that they may realize that He is God, believe that He is
Healer (Jn 8:28), and receive eternal life (Jn 3:14-15). Lifting up Jesus
unleashes a life-changing, parish-changing, and world-changing sequence of
events. Therefore, we must devote ourselves to ensuring that Jesus is
constantly being lifted up.

How is Jesus lifted up? He is lifted up:
* on His cross. Display crucifixes everywhere — in your home, parish,
school, office, car, and other places.
* at the elevation of the Eucharist in Mass. Attend Mass daily or as
often as possible, and invite others to join you.
* as He is exposed in the monstrance at Eucharistic adoration. Adore
the eucharistic Jesus whenever possible. Work to promote eucharistic
adoration wherever you can.
* in a manner of speaking, in the praises of His people. Praise God
daily. Praise Him in church (Ps 150:1). Praise Him with the spiritual gift
of tongues (1 Cor 14:2, 17). Start or join a prayer and praise group. Pray
the Divine Praises. "Praise the Lord!" (Ps 150:6)
* during Sunday Mass, as the Word of God, Jesus (Jn 1:1, 14), is lifted
up as the priest or deacon lifts high the Book of the Gospels before
proclaiming the Gospel reading. Teach others to tremble at His Word (Is
66:2).

Jesus proclaims: "I — once I am lifted up from earth — will draw all men
to Myself" (Jn 12:32). Therefore, "lift high the cross!" Lift up the name
of Jesus! Give your world a lift.

Prayer: Jesus, may I decrease so that You may increase (Jn 3:30).

Promise: "You will surely die in your sins unless you come to believe that
I AM." —Jn 8:24

Praise: It is when she sings the praises of Jesus, her Lord and God, that
Ramona feels the most lifted.

CONDEMNED?

"Jesus said, 'Nor do I condemn you. You may go. But from now on, avoid
this sin.' " —John 8:11

In Jesus, there is no condemnation (Rm 8:1). "God did not send the Son
into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved
through Him. Whoever believes in Him avoids condemnation, but whoever does
not believe is already condemned for not believing in the name of God's
only Son" (Jn 3:17-18). This passage states that no one who believes in
Jesus is condemned, but everyone who does not believe in Jesus is
condemned.

In Jesus, there is no condemnation (Rm 8:1). Outside of Jesus, there is
nothing but condemnation, not just for the future but also for the
present. Nonetheless, Jesus refuses to condemn even those who refuse to
believe in Him. He promised: "I am not the one to condemn him, for I did
not come to condemn the world but to save it" (Jn 12:47). Rather, those
who refuse to believe in Jesus are condemned by God's word. Jesus said:
"Whoever rejects Me and does not accept My words already has his judge,
namely, the word I have spoken — it is that which will condemn him on the
last day" (Jn 12:48).

Paradoxically, Jesus, Who has never condemned us, was condemned by all of
us. Then He not only forgave us but also loved us enough to be condemned
to death in place of us who condemned Him. Jesus says: "I could say much
about you in condemnation, but no, I only tell the world what I have heard
from Him, the Truthful One Who sent Me" (Jn 8:26).

Prayer: Jesus, I repent of condemning You by my sins. Lord, have mercy on
me.

Promise: "The whole assembly cried aloud, blessing God Who saves those
that hope in Him." —Dn 13:60

Praise: When going through trials and temptations, Kelsey clings to Jesus,
Who comes to save and not condemn.

March 29th Fifth Sunday of Lent

Jesus, Lent is practically over, and we pray that we now know what exactly
you want us to give You as an Easter present.

Lord, what sin or defect of ours do You want that will help free us from
the snares and entrapments of this world?

Jesus, You gave us Lent as a time to pray, fast, and give alms, and You
also gave us Lent as a time of personal growth to You.

Help us to see that You always want us to become more like You, by growing
in spirituality, and getting freed from the ways fo the world.

By this freedom, we will be able to see the needs of others with clear
eyes, that see to the heart.

Let us be vessels of love and forgivness to all.

Thank You for Your love. Amen and Amen

Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday COMING ATTRACTION
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=3/29/2009

"The hour has come." —John 12:23

Jesus told His hearers that the hour of His death was approaching.
He observed: "I solemnly assure you, unless the grain of wheat
falls to the earth and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat. But if
it dies, it produces much fruit" (Jn 12:24). The burial of the seed
in the soil is not its final end, but a time of transition. The life in
the seed "dies," but this death leads to a different life that bears
much fruit (Jn 12:24).

The Greek word translated "die" in John 12:24 literally means to
"die away." Each day, we must die away from our sins and desires.
Even while receiving the Bread of Life, we still focus on dying away
(1 Cor 11:26). We die to ourselves (Lk 9:23) and continually "carry
about in our bodies the dying of Jesus" (2 Cor 4:10). The more we
die away, the more the life of Jesus is revealed in us (2 Cor 4:10).

When Jesus was lifted up on the cross to die, He attracted all to
Himself (Jn 12:32). His death gathered many together (Jn 11:51-52).
How will it be at your death? For some of you, "the hour" of your
death is coming soon (Jn 12:23). Will your death glorify God and
attract many to Jesus? You can increase the glory God will receive
at your death by daily "dying away" so as to allow His life to
overshadow you. Die to yourself daily, lay down your life for Jesus,
and prepare to bear an attractive and attracting harvest for the glory
of God.

The Secret of Fasting
Fasting is limiting our intake of food in response to God's call
and for the building of His kingdom. Almost all the great men
and women of God throughout history have known a secret,
the secret of fasting. They have understood the power and the
privilege of fasting. We cannot fast unless we have God's
permission. But when God permits us to fast, we have the
opportunity to be in the forefront of His work. We are honored
to be chosen to have such an important part in the Spirit's
movement. Fasting is a power, privilege, opportunity, and
honor. But only those who know the secret recognize this.

OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT FASTING

Throughout much of the Old Testament, there was only one
fast day, the Day of Atonement (Lev 16:29). Later, other fasts
were called for either because of a state of emergency or on
the anniversary of a national tragedy (Zech 7:3-4). Fasting was
an attempt to end a terrible circumstance.

In the new covenant, we fast in a different way, as

COMMUNICATE THE HOPE OF JESUS
If Jesus has become your hope, communicate this to others with your joy

"FIRM AND RELIABLE"
The question of hope is truly central to our lives as human beings and our

COMING ATTRACTION

"The hour has come." —John 12:23

Jesus told His hearers that the hour of His death was approaching. He
observed: "I solemnly assure you, unless the grain of wheat falls to the
earth and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat. But if it dies, it
produces much fruit" (Jn 12:24). The burial of the seed in the soil is not
its final end, but a time of transition. The life in the seed "dies," but
this death leads to a different life that bears much fruit (Jn 12:24).

The Greek word translated "die" in John 12:24 literally means to "die
away." Each day, we must die away from our sins and desires. Even while
receiving the Bread of Life, we still focus on dying away (1 Cor 11:26).
We die to ourselves (Lk 9:23) and continually "carry about in our bodies
the dying of Jesus" (2 Cor 4:10). The more we die away, the more the life
of Jesus is revealed in us (2 Cor 4:10).

When Jesus was lifted up on the cross to die, He attracted all to Himself
(Jn 12:32). His death gathered many together (Jn 11:51-52). How will it be
at your death? For some of you, "the hour" of your death is coming soon
(Jn 12:23). Will your death glorify God and attract many to Jesus? You can
increase the glory God will receive at your death by daily "dying away" so
as to allow His life to overshadow you. Die to yourself daily, lay down
your life for Jesus, and prepare to bear an attractive and attracting
harvest for the glory of God.

Prayer: "Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the
hour of our death. Amen."

Promise: "If anyone serves Me, him the Father will honor." —Jn 12:26

Praise: Praise Jesus, the First-Born of the dead (Col 1:18), Whose death
has brought us life!

"THE AVENGER OF BLOOD" (Nm 35:12)

"Let me witness the vengeance You take on them." —Jeremiah 11:20

The people to whom Jeremiah prophesied were treacherously planning to kill
him (Jer 11:19). Jeremiah risked his neck to serve God, and he wanted God
to back him up by taking vengeance on these enemies. In addition, Jeremiah
wanted to see it personally.

We Christians have enemies also. Unlike Jeremiah, we do get to witness the
vengeance God takes on them. We see:
* Jesus destroying the devil's works (1 Jn 3:8),
* the pride of the powerful crushed as they gaze upon Jesus crucified
(see Is 52:15),
* sinners emerging from the confessional with tears of repentance and
gratitude as Jesus in His vengeance robs Satan of still more of his former
captives (Col 2:15).

God commands in His word: "Beloved, do not avenge yourselves; leave that
to [Me]...'Vengeance is Mine; I will repay' " (Rm 12:19). Yet we can have
a role. God's word tells us: "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is
thirsty, give him something to drink; by doing this you will heap burning
coals upon his head" (Rm 12:20).

God is perfectly just (1 Cor 1:30; Is 30:18). He is able to punish the
wicked until they are forced to choose for Him or against Him (2 Pt 2:9).
He can avenge by acting in justice or avenge through mercy. Let's do our
part as God's agents so His enemies and ours receive the right kind of
vengeance from God (Rm 12:20).

Prayer: Father, may the burning coals of kindness I pour on my enemies
melt their hearts and lead them to You.

Promise: "No man ever spoke like that before." —Jn 7:46

Praise: In prayer, Jan made a distinct decision to be kind to a
cantankerous neighbor and saw that woman grow in love in response to her
kindness.

HOW TO BECOME ANTI-CHRIST

"Let us beset the Just One, because He is obnoxious to us." —Wisdom 2:12

Jesus is the Just One; He is Justice Itself (1 Cor 1:30). Therefore, He
seems obnoxious to the unjust. They say of Jesus: "To us He is the censure
of our thoughts; merely to see Him is a hardship for us" (Wis 2:14). Thus
Jesus is not only considered obnoxious but merely seeing Him becomes a
hardship for the unjust.

Furthermore, "everyone who practices evil hates the light" (Jn 3:20). If
we don't repent of our injustices, of our sins, we eventually don't want
Jesus Christ even mentioned, and finally, we hate Him. We have become an
anti-Christ (see 1 Jn 2:18).

Although they may pride themselves on being tolerant of almost anything,
the unrepentant are intolerant of Christianity and militantly
anti-Christian. They say: "With revilement and torture let us put Him to
the test that we may have proof of His gentleness and try His patience.
Let us condemn Him to a shameful death" (Wis 2:19-20).

Traditionally, preachers and teachers have proclaimed that each of us had
a part in Jesus' crucifixion because He died to atone for our sins (see
Catechism, 598). Yet how many of us see a direct connection between our
sins and Jesus' sufferings on Calvary? However, if we don't repent of sin,
we are re-crucifying Christ (Heb 6:6), and will be as anti-Christ as those
screaming for Jesus' blood at the foot of the cross.

Prayer: Father, this Lent help me to repent of sin and let You change my
hardened, even hateful, heart.

Promise: "When the just cry out, the Lord hears them, and from all their
distress He rescues them." —Ps 34:18

Praise: Mel, a company vice-president, receives the Eucharist each morning
before starting his workday.

Be ALL you can be

Source: Joyce Meyer

Have you ever noticed that it's usually much easier to start a project than
to actually finish it? The truth is, anyone can start projects. The world is
full of just-started projects that looked great at the time but were never
completed. There's always a certain amount of excitement that comes with
starting something. People rally around you and encourage you. There's an
energy that always comes when you're first starting out.

But it takes a real man or woman of excellence and determination to bring
something through to the finish-especially when you're trying to do it in
obedience to God. The last thing the devil wants you to do is be an obedient
Christian. He will try everything he can to distract you and discourage you
from finishing what you've started. But it takes godly determination to
bring things all the way through to the finish.

If we want to be people of excellence and integrity, we not only need to
start things, but we need to finish them as well. Whether it's the small
stuff like cleaning your closet or organizing the junk drawer in your
kitchen, or it's something big like starting a new business or ministry. You
have to start with the small stuff, and the way you handle the small things
is the way you'll handle the bigger things.

There's a great story about finishing strong in 1 Kings 18. In this passage,
Elijah prayed for it not to rain and the Bible says that it did not rain for
over three years. Then Elijah prayed for it to rain again and he declared to
the wicked King Ahab that it would- even though there was no outward sign of
rain on the way.

The Bible says that he got down on his knees and began to pray, and he sent
his servant to the mountaintop to see if a storm was coming. His servant
returned to say that there was no rain on the way. Elijah told his servant
to go again, but there was still nothing. He told his servant to go back up
to the mountaintop seven times. Finally, on the seventh time he saw the rain
cloud on the way.

But what if he would've stopped praying after the second time or the third
time? What if he got discouraged and stopped after the fifth or the sixth
time? I think it took all seven times, and I think seven is just a
representative number of doing something the perfect number of times until
you are able to finish the job with excellence.

Today is a great day to make up your mind and say, "I'm going to be the
person God wants me to be! I'm going to do what God wants me to do! I will
not give up!" Of course, you must realize that it's easy to commit to
something when there's no pain or discomfort, and you will have opposition.
Remember, you have an enemy who doesn't want you to finish-he doesn't want
you to succeed. He doesn't want you to make progress. But if you'll refuse
to give up, there's not a thing that he can do.

When you are determined to obey God and follow His commands you'll live life
intentionally.on purpose! You'll be able to say to the devil, "I'm not going
to quit! I'm going to keep trying until I finish the things that God has
ordained me to do. I will finish strong!"

God wants you to finish and He is ready to give you all His power and
strength to accomplish those things that He has for you to do. He's not
going to give up on you no matter what. He will always be there cheering you
on.

If you really want to be ALL you can be, you're going to need to be a strong
finisher and not just an enthusiastic starter. Anyone can start, but it
takes a determined person not to become lazy, lethargic or passive and to
push through the opposition of the enemy to succeed. It takes a person of
excellence to strive for the finish line no matter what. But I know you can
do it! You can be ALL God created you to be!

IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS

"It was about Me that [Moses] wrote." —John 5:46

Moses wrote about Jesus (Jn 5:46). Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John wrote
about Jesus in their Gospels. St. Paul wrote about Jesus in all of his New
Testament letters. At Corinth, Paul spoke "of nothing but Jesus Christ and
Him crucified" (1 Cor 2:2). The Blessed Virgin Mary spent her life
treasuring Jesus and everything that concerned Him (Lk 2:19). The angels
center their existence around Jesus (Jn 1:51).

In Lent, we prepare ourselves to enter into the death, burial, and
resurrection of Jesus. Jesus is "the Resurrection and the Life" (Jn
11:25). He is the meaning of Lent, the reason for the season.

Jesus "is before all else that is. In Him everything continues in being.
It is He Who is Head of the body, the Church; He Who is the Beginning, the
First-Born of the dead, so that primacy may be His in everything" (Col
1:17-18). It's all about Jesus.

Is your life all about Jesus? Are your thoughts, words, desires,
sufferings, works, leisure all about Jesus? Have you been crucified with
Christ, so that the life you live now is not your own, but is the life of
Jesus living in you? (Gal 2:19-20) Are you immersed in the life of Jesus?
This is what it means to be baptized in Jesus.

In two weeks, Lent ends and the Triduum begins. Then on Easter Vigil and
Easter Sunday, we will renew our baptismal promises to be immersed in
Jesus. At that moment, we will six times tell Jesus, "I do." Speak each "I
do" to Jesus with even more love than a bride and groom say "I do" on
their wedding day. Make your life all about Jesus.

Prayer: Jesus, I come to You to possess life (Jn 5:40). I will fix my eyes
upon You moment by moment (Heb 12:2).

Promise: "These very works which I perform testify on My behalf that the
Father has sent Me." —Jn 5:36

Praise: Renewing her Baptismal promises becomes increasingly more
meaningful for Sarah as years go by.

THE GREATEST NEWS

"The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will
overshadow you; hence, the holy Offspring to be born will be called Son of
God." —Luke 1:35

Because God became a human being, we can have a person-to-person
relationship with Him. We can see Jesus face to face (1 Cor 13:12), touch
Him, be touched by Him, kiss Him, talk to Him, and hear Him. Because God
became a human being, He could and did suffer and die for love of us. He
justified, redeemed, and saved us.

Because God became a human being, He could rise from the dead, conquer
death, and make it possible for us also to rise from the dead. Because God
became a human being, we can receive the body and blood of Jesus in Holy
Communion and be walking tabernacles.

Because God became a human being, Jesus has made it possible for us to be
baptized into Him and into His death and resurrection (Rm 6:3-4) and
thereby become new creations (see Gal 6:15). We can become children of God
and sharers in His divine nature (2 Pt 1:4).

The Annunciation commemorates not only the announcing of the Incarnation
and the virgin birth. It also announces Jesus' death, resurrection, and
ascension. It announces our salvation, resurrection, adoption into God's
family, and sharing in His nature. Respond to the greatest of good news by
saying with Mary: "Let it be done to me according to God's word" (see Lk
1:38).

Prayer: Father, may I respond to the Annunciation as Mary did — by
immediately visiting someone to share the greatest of good news (see Lk
1:39).

Promise: "By this 'will,' we have been sanctified through the offering of
the body of Jesus Christ once for all." —Heb 10:10

Praise: "Great will be His dignity and He will be called Son of the Most
High" (Lk 1:32).

ALL ALONE?

"I do not have anyone." —John 5:7

Jesus asked the man who had been sick for 38 years whether he wanted to be
healed (Jn 5:6). The man never answered Jesus' question. Instead, he
lamented that he didn't have anyone to plunge him into the pool of
Bethesda (Jn 5:7). Like the sick man at the pool of Bethesda, many sick
people are not thinking of their sickness as much as of their loneliness
and sense of being abandoned. Many of us are preoccupied with the feeling
that we "have no one."

As we face loneliness, rejection, and abandonment in our lives, we can
either center and wrap our lives around this loneliness or we can turn to
Jesus. Jesus has promised to definitively deal with our loneliness by
being with us (Mt 28:20) and within us always (Jn 17:23). We may try to
compensate for our loneliness by getting attention through being and
staying sick, making money, or accumulating possessions. We will probably
hold unforgiveness, resentment, and bitterness against those who have left
us alone.

Instead of turning to our loneliness, we can turn to Jesus. He was
lonelier than anyone who has ever lived when His sweat became as drops of
blood at the agony in the garden (see Lk 22:44) and when He hung on the
cross and cried "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" (Mt 27:46)
Jesus was in terrifying loneliness. He understands your suffering. Abandon
yourself to Jesus. He will never leave you (see Heb 13:5).

Prayer: Father, may I believe that I can never be alone for You are with
me (Jn 16:32).

Promise: "Wherever the river flows, every sort of living creature that can
multiply shall live." —Ez 47:9

Praise: After confessing his sexual sin, Andrew was able, by the grace of
God, to sin no more (see Jn 8:11).

BEGIN EASTER NOW

"There shall always be rejoicing and happiness in what I create." —Isaiah
65:18

We are about halfway through Lent and joyfully anticipating Easter. The
Lord promises us a now-Easter, not only a past memory or future hope but a
present joy. Jesus promises: "Lo, I am about to create new heavens and a
new earth; the things of the past shall not be remembered or come to mind.
Instead, there shall always be rejoicing and happiness in what I create"
(Is 65:17-18). This Easter, we will taste more deeply of the risen life.
We will rejoice in Jesus and He in us (Is 65:18-19).

Some of you reading this may not relate to the mounting joy of Lent and
the anticipation of Easter. You may be hurting, broken, and struggling to
survive. Jesus is calling you to trust in His words (see Jn 4:50), in His
promises of risen joy.

The moment you trust in Jesus' words will be the moment you enter more
deeply into His risen life (see Jn 4:53). You may not notice any change at
first, but you will be able to look back weeks or years from now and see
that the moment of faith was the beginning of new life in the risen
Christ. If we walk through this Lent by faith, we can walk in joyful
anticipation, no matter what the circumstances (see 2 Cor 5:7). Therefore,
believe, rejoice, and anticipate.

Prayer: Father, "keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as
we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ" (from
the prayer after the "Our Father" in the Mass).

Promise: "He and his whole household thereupon became believers." —Jn 4:53

Praise: St. Turibius baptized and confirmed nearly a million people as
bishop of Peru.

God Bless you and all you care for.
The editor

March 22nd Fourth Sunday of Lent

This week, Jesus, Your church celebrates the annunciation
of You to Mary, our mother.

Her fiat is, for us, a great example of how we should always
say yes to You, even when we don't understand how it will
be worked out.

"be it done unto me according to Your word", should be the
attitude that we should have in all the issues of life, and her
trust should fill us with peace.

Mom didn't know how Your plan was going to be accomplished,
but yet she said Yes to the angel Gabriel.

Jesus, give us the grace to always say yes to You, even
though we don't understand the plan.

Give us the grace to walk with You, rather then in the world.

Help us on our pilgrim journey to Your heavenly kingdom.
Amen and Amen

Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday SAVED
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=3/22/2009

"God is rich in mercy; because of His great love for us He
brought us to life with Christ when we were dead in sin. By
this favor you were saved." —Ephesians 2:4-5

We are saved from sin, death, Satan, hell, fear, slavery,
self-hatred, etc. We are saved for a personal relationship with
the Lord, a life of holiness, and the abundant life with the Lord
here on earth and forever in heaven.

We are saved by Jesus. "God did not send the Son into the
world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved
through Him" (Jn 3:17).

We are saved by grace. "I repeat, it is owing to His favor that
salvation is yours through faith. This is not your own doing, it
is God's gift" (Eph 2:8).

We are saved by faith. "Salvation is yours through faith" (Eph 2:8).
"Yes, God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that
whoever believes in Him may not die but may have eternal
life" (Jn 3:16).

We are saved by faith expressed in works, for "faith without
works is as dead as a body without breath" (Jas 2:26). "A
person is justified by his works and not by faith alone" (Jas 2:24).
"We are truly His handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to lead the
life of good deeds which God prepared for us in advance" (Eph 2:10).
We are saved! Thank You, Jesus!

The Secret of Fasting

Fasting is limiting our intake of food in response to God's call
and for the building of His kingdom. Almost all the great men
and women of God throughout history have known a secret,
the secret of fasting. They have understood the power and the
privilege of fasting. We cannot fast unless we have God's
permission. But when God permits us to fast, we have the
opportunity to be in the forefront of His work. We are honored
to be chosen to have such an important part in the Spirit's
movement. Fasting is a power, privilege, opportunity, and honor.

In the new covenant, we fast in a different way, as after .............

and all my relations specially my husband, and so i get hurt and lose my

We trust our Lord will bring us through this.

Pope Benedict XVI, Shepherd of Truth
Notable quotations from Pope Benedict XVI and official teachings of the
Roman Catholic Church

YOUTH AND HOPE

"THE CRISIS OF HOPE"
The crisis of hope is more likely to affect the younger generations. In
socio-cultural environments with few certainties, values or firm points of
reference, they find themselves facing difficulties that seem beyond their
strength.

"ABOUND IN HOPE"
The main task for us all is that of a new evangelization aimed at helping
younger generations to rediscover the true face of God, Who is Love. To
you ... who are in search of a firm hope, I address the ... words that
Saint Paul wrote ...: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace
in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy
Spirit."

PEOPLE OF HOPE
Prayer is the gift of the Spirit that makes us men and women of hope, and
our prayer keeps the world open to God ...

SAVED

"God is rich in mercy; because of His great love for us He brought us to
life with Christ when we were dead in sin. By this favor you were

We are saved from sin, death, Satan, hell, fear, slavery, self-hatred,
etc. We are saved for a personal relationship with the Lord, a life of
holiness, and the abundant life with the Lord here on earth and forever in
heaven.

We are saved by Jesus. "God did not send the Son into the world to condemn
the world, but that the world might be saved through Him" (Jn 3:17).

We are saved by grace. "I repeat, it is owing to His favor that salvation
is yours through faith. This is not your own doing, it is God's gift" (Eph
2:8).

We are saved by faith. "Salvation is yours through faith" (Eph 2:8). "Yes,
God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in
Him may not die but may have eternal life" (Jn 3:16).

We are saved by faith expressed in works, for "faith without works is as
dead as a body without breath" (Jas 2:26). "A person is justified by his
works and not by faith alone" (Jas 2:24). "We are truly His handiwork,
created in Christ Jesus to lead the life of good deeds which God prepared
for us in advance" (Eph 2:10).

We are saved! Thank You, Jesus!

Prayer: Father, this Lent may I accept Jesus as my Savior and rejoice in
His salvation.

Promise: "Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the
Son of Man be lifted up, that all who believe may have eternal life in
Him." —Jn 3:14-15

Praise: Praise the risen Jesus Who is our Savior, now and at the end of
time!
