May 16th Seventh Sunday of Easter
( or Ascension Sunday if chosen by the diocese )
Jesus, in the dioceses of the Church where ascension was moved
to Sunday, they celebrate the feast day of "Our Lady of Fatima" this
week, where Mary, our mother, gave us affirmation that she was
"Our lady of the rosary".
Jesus, help us to pray and meditate on all the mysteries of the rosary
and say the rosary everyday for the conversion of all countries that
don't give You honor and glory.
Help us to see in the rosary a gift of great graces.
Amen and Amen.
Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body
This weeks readings and reflections
Sunday SHOCKED INTO PRAYER

"No sooner had He said this than He was lifted up before their eyes in
a cloud which took Him from their sight." —Acts 1:9
Before Jesus ascended, He told us to be His witnesses and to wait to
be "clothed with power from on high" (Lk 24:48-49). Then He was taken
up into heaven. The last words of a person ascending have a tendency
to stick with you. The disciples were so shocked they actually obeyed
Jesus and remained in the city to pray.
We hope today's celebration of Jesus' Ascension will affect us this way.
May we get shocked into obeying God's call to pray for nine days so
that we and all the Church will receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
May we pray as if:
- our best friend has disappeared,
- something happened where we couldn't believe our eyes,
- we need a miracle,
- a close friend committed suicide (see Acts 1:18),
- Mary, the mother of God, was with us (Acts 1:14),
- Pentecost 2010 were real, and
- we thirsted for and desired the Spirit more than anything else in life.
After this novena to the Holy Spirit, we will never be the same. Pray and
obey.

ago, now abandoned by alcoholic father, currently in hospital,
extremely weak. Her aunt, who herself is finding it hard to survive,
is looking to her needs. Please Abba let Pushpa feel your loving
arms, your comfort and consolation. Touch her and heal her so
she can live life to the fullest as you promised. Amen

Lord though at times I feel like you have abandoned me but you

Wow! I can't make it w/o God's help! Both my parents are dying,
my business is almost bankrupt, got an IRS lettter yesterday about
seizing our home. But what is really horrible is how my wife is
ruining our family and treating my wonderful boys (9 & 15). We are
still 'married' but legally I can't do anything. Financially &
emotionally she is causing havoc. Though 'Catholic', she won't let
the boys go to Mass in spite. However, these trials have brought
close to our Lord. Now I needed the help of the Church militant and
intercession. HELP!
