Protect the Pope and all the clergy and religious.

Let us pray that all Catholics see You truly in the gift of the
Eucharist.

Let us all adore You.

Amen and Amen.

Sunday THE WAITING IS THE HARDEST PART

"Then He breathed on them and said: 'Receive the Holy Spirit.' " -John 20:22


Many of us reading this reflection are baptized and confirmed Catholics. It was our privilege to
sacramentally "receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38). However, since God the Father
has blessed us with intellect and free will, we may choose to "stifle the Spirit" (1 Thes 5:19)
in our lives. Will you take advantage of the Feast of Pentecost, or let another year come and go?

Guard against not recognizing your true dignity as an adopted child of God (Rm 8:14-15). Though
we are each unique, we "were baptized into one body" (1 Cor 12:13). How are you using your
spiritual gifts to advance the Kingdom of God? Sin is our greatest enemy, and no sin is
committed in a vacuum. "If you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit
you put to death the evil deeds of the body, you will live" (Rm 8:13). Let's live for God and
for one another.

Jesus, the Word of God, has revealed everything necessary for our salvation. Jesus said, "I will
ask the Father and He will give you another Paraclete - to be with you always" (Jn 14:16). Trust
Jesus and His Word. "Receive the Holy Spirit" (Jn 20:22).


Prayer: Jesus, I ask You to re-invigorate the Holy Spirit in my life and in the life of the
Church. Come, Holy Spirit!

Promise: "The Paraclete, the Holy Spirit Whom the Father will send in My name, will instruct you
in everything, and remind you of all that I told you." -Jn 14:26

Praise: Praise the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, our Hope! Alleluia!

Bible Prayers for the Coming of the Holy Spirit

In 1897 Pope Leo XIII was inspired to call every Catholic Church in the world to pray nine
days for the coming of the Spirit. We pray this novena from the day after the feast of the
Ascension to the day before Pentecost each year. Pope John Paul II has reiterated Pope Leo's
call to pray for the coming of the Spirit.

I prayed this novena in 1975, and it was one of the greatest events in my life. The Spirit
was stirred up in me (see 2 Tm 1:6-7), my Confirmation was renewed, and I was filled with the
Holy Spirit. In thanksgiving to the Spirit, I have compiled these Bible-based prayers for a
new Pentecost. If we pray these prayers sincerely (see Lk 11:13), we will see the Spirit do
more than we have ever asked for or imagined (Eph 3:20).

Father, I repent of stifling the Spirit (1 Thes 5:19) by giving in to selfish desires. May
I let the Spirit lust against the desires of the flesh (Gal 5:17) so that I ...............

first step in order to move and begin my new journey. Your prayers would mean a great deal

mothers, great grand parents and all generations and ancestors - if there is anything
blocking the bloodlines of the family tree, cleanse it with your healing blood. I pray
specially for the soul of William and ask for the intercession of Mother Mary, all the angels
and saints that He be given a merciful judgement and released from purgatory into your
marvellous light soon.

Please pray for Duggy who is in hospital post heart surgery and is not quite responding or
recognizing people around him. That the Lord will give the attending surgeons/doctors the
wisdom and discernment as to the line of treatment and also send his healing touch, so that
he will start responding and recognizing his family members and be out of hospital soon. Amen

New Technology for Bible Telephone Line Ministry
Local Numbers Double Practically Overnight!

The Bible Telephone Line (BTL) has been in operation for 19 years. Begun by Fr. Al
in 1991, it now continues with three teachers trained by him and by Presentation
Ministries. In cities where local numbers have been established, the BTL provides
callers with a short teaching on the readings for the daily Mass. It is available 24
hours a day and 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a short prayer request which
will be shared on the line with the other callers the next day.
