PM eNewsletter 31st Sunday in Ordinary time

October 30th, 31st Sunday in ordinary time

This week, Jesus, we celebrate all saints, and all souls day.

Help us to truly pray for all people who are being totally purified and purged of effects
of sin in purgatory.

Help us to intercede with the saints who can go before You for all those souls.

Help us to totally realize that You are the true intercessor before the Father, but that
You want the saints, and us, to also intercede for the graces we all need to someday come
to You as unstained as possible.

Thank You for loving us eternally.

Amen and Amen.

Thank You Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday THE RETURN OF THE PENITENTIAL PEOPLE
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?lang=en&d=10/30/2016

"Today salvation has come to this house." -Luke 19:9

After salvation had come to his house, Zacchaeus immediately stated his intent to make
reparation for the damage done by him through his sins. This is traditionally called "doing
penance." Zacchaeus "said to the Lord: 'I give half my belongings, Lord, to the poor. If I
have defrauded anyone in the least, I pay him back fourfold' " (Lk 19:8). Likewise, if we have
truly repented from our sins, we will want to do penance and repair in some way the damage done
by our sins.

Because sin is such a great evil, its damage is very extensive. Zacchaeus realized this. So he
began to make partial reparation by giving half of his possessions to the poor. Because
Zacchaeus was a chief tax collector and tax collecting was a lucrative business, half of
Zacchaeus' assets could probably be at least the equivalent of several hundred thousand dollars.
This shows the extent of the need to make reparation and do penance.

The indulgences given by the Church also imply that the victims of sin are severely damaged. An
indulgence is the Church's application of Christ's merits and the Church's share in those merits
to the repair due to sin. Unless the repair job was extensive, why would we need help of such
magnitude?

Purgatory is partly for reparation of the damaging effects of sin. This again implies that
justice and love require reparation for our sins and that this repairing is extensive.

Zacchaeus is a patron of reparation and penance. Let us follow his example and return to being a
people of penance.

Prayer: Father, through the sacrifices of almsgiving, prayer, and fasting, make my life
increasingly penitential.

Promise: "You have mercy on all, because You can do all things; and You overlook the sins of men
that they may repent." -Wis 11:23

Praise: Glory, power, and might to the Lamb of God!

PM Internet Prayer Requests
http://www.presentationministries.com/prayer/prayer.asp

Lord when I am overwhelmed by things that surround me and overburdened, help me to look at you
on the cross and draw strength, grace and courage to keep on going on. I realise that as I am
growing older I need to slow down. Give me a good person to help me out, specially now that my
helper is ill and unable to work. Lord I am trusting you will hear my prayer and send me the
right person. Thank you and Praise you Jesus. Glory and honor to you Lord. Alleluia Lord.

Divine mercy, I place Nish, Agnes, Mary in your loving care. Touch them with your divine healing
love and make them perfectly well. Let them have a deep and peaceful restful nights sleep even
as Jesus Mary and Joseph all the angels and saints guard, guide and protect them. Let them feel
your comforting presence at all times. Thank you Divine mercy for your love.
(Marge, , 10/29/2016 2:14:11 PM)

Dear friends in Christ, I have found many people no longer want to talk about eternal death,
eternal punishments and hell fire because it is too disturbing a topic. However. I would rather
be disturbed about it now than be disturbed about it later.

Pope Francis, Shepherd of Truth
http://presentationministries.com/pope/fst2016-10.asp?navlink=latest

Notable quotations from Pope Francis and official teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

SAINT TERESA OF CALCUTTA

"DARING AND COURAGE"

Following Jesus is a serious task, and at the same time, one filled with joy; it takes a certain
daring and courage to recognize the divine Master in the poorest of the poor and those who are
cast aside, and to give oneself in their service.

"GENEROUS DISPENSER"

Mother Teresa ... was a generous dispenser of divine mercy, making herself available for everyone
through her welcome and defense of human life, those unborn and those abandoned and discarded.
She was committed to defending life, ceaselessly proclaiming that "the unborn are the weakest,
the smallest, the most vulnerable." She bowed down before those who were spent, left to die on
the side of the road, seeing in them their God-given dignity; she made her voice heard before the
powers of the world ...

SAINT OF MERCY

For Mother Teresa, mercy was the "salt" which gave flavor to her work, it was the "light" which
shone in the darkness of the many who no longer had tears to shed for their poverty and suffering.
