March 3rd Eigth Sunday in ordinary time
Jesus, as we receive ashes this Wednesday, let it truly remind us that we are born into this life
as a pilgram on a journey to get us into true life, eternal life, with You.
Lord, let us see in the ashes, our reminder to life in, to and through, You, in everything.
Let us see that we were baptised into kinship with You, and that someday, we will enter that
heavenly kingdom, where we will rejoice and praise the triune God forever.
Jesus, let us never fear death, but see it as a natural progression to get us into Your eternal
presence.
Let us prepare for our home coming this Lent.
Amen and Amen.
Thank You Lord, for loving us totally.

Sunday MIGHTY MOUTH

"Praise no man before he speaks, for it is then that men are tested." -Sirach 27:7
When we open our mouths and speak, we open our inner selves and reveal publicly:
* our "heart's abundance" (Lk 6:45),
* our faults and sins (Sir 27:4), and
* the bent of our minds (Sir 27:6).
Therefore,
* be "slow to speak" (Jas 1:19),
* don't talk too much (Prv 10:19), and
* "let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for edifying, as fits the
occasion, that it may impart grace to those who hear" (Eph 4:29, RSV-CE).
"All of us fall short in many respects. If a person is without fault in speech he is a man in the
fullest sense, because he can control his entire body" (Jas 3:2). This coming Lent, let Jesus be
Lord of your mouth, the Holy Spirit purify your tongue, and the Father be glorified by your every
word.
Prayer: Father, I will open my mouth for You to fill it (see Ps 81:11).
Promise: "You know that your toil is not in vain when it is done in the Lord." -1 Cor 15:58
Praise: Alleluia! Jesus is risen! He will raise us from the dead if we believe in Him (Jn 11:26).
Alleluia!

Please pray for our sister-in-law-Cindy, so the Lord will work on her mind and soften her thinking!!!
She wants the top dollar for everything and is being very greedy and unreasonable!!! We might loose
the farmland that my grandpa bought over 75 years ago!!! The decision will be made this coming week!!

Fear is useless. LORD please look kindly on the petitions posted and all the requests said silently
in our hearts. JESUS wants us to pray. JESUS wants is to bring our needs to him. JESUS wants us to

Bible Telephone Line
The Bible Telephone Line (BTL) has been in operation for 27 years. Begun by Fr. Al in 1991, it now
continues with one deacon of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and two lay teachers trained by
Presentation Ministries. The BTL provides callers with a short teaching on the readings for the
daily Mass. It is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a short prayer
request which will be shared on the line with the other callers the next day on a separate line.

END HUNGER
WE CAN DO IT
We do indeed have the adequate means and framework so that beautiful words and good wishes may become
an action plan of substance that leads effectively to the eradication of hunger in our world. To this
end we need joint efforts, upright hearts, and persistent concern to firmly and resolutely make the
other's problems one's own.
"LACK OF POLITICAL WILL"
There is a fundamental lack of political will. What is needed is the willingness to end hunger, and
this ultimately will not happen without a moral conviction that is shared by all peoples and all
religious persuasions, where the integral good of the person is at the heart of all initiatives and
consists in "doing to another what we would want done to ourselves."
DON'T BE INDIFFERENT
... These are some reflections I wish to share with those men and women who do not allow themselves to
succumb to indifference; who hear the cry of those who do not have the minimum needed to lead a
dignified life.
