THE BLOOD THAT JESUS SHED FOR ME
"Now the justice of God has been manifested apart from the law, even though both law and prophets bear witness to it — that justice of God which works through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe." —Romans 3:21-22
Prophets had been murdered for thousands of years, “from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah” (Lk 11:51). Yet not one of these murders was atoned for over all this time. Jesus said: “This generation will have to account for the blood of all the prophets shed since the foundation of the world” (Lk 11:50). All the people in the world do not have the power to atone for one sin. Yet, all the sins of all time were atoned for by one Man, Jesus (Rm 5:15). Jesus alone accounted for all sins. One drop of His blood did what centuries of animal sacrifices and millions of good works could never do (Heb 9:14; 10:4).
“All men are now undeservedly justified by the gift of God, through the redemption wrought in Christ Jesus. Through His blood, God made Him the means of expiation for all who believe” (Rm 3:24-25). Therefore, “worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches, wisdom and strength, honor and glory and praise!” (Rv 5:12) For “with Your blood You purchased for God men of every race and tongue, of every people and nation” (Rv 5:9).
Prayer: Jesus, at Your name, "every knee must bend...and every tongue proclaim...JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!" (Phil 2:10, 11)
Promise: "If You, O Lord, mark iniquities, Lord, who can stand? But with You is forgiveness, that You may be revered." —Ps 130:3-4
Praise: Pope St. Callistus began his young life as a slave in the imperial Roman household. He squandered his master's money and spent a short time in jail! Converting to the Lord, he became Pope in 217 AD.
