My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

As it has been written,

"Come after Me and I will make you fishers of men." —Matthew 4:19

"Stay with this task whether convenient or inconvenient — correcting,
reproving, appealing — constantly teaching and never losing
patience" (2 Tm 4:2).

My editorial ministry is to spread the word of Christ through
Presentation Ministries to all that will hear. We, you and I, are
part of a family of over 4000 readers around the world. I ask,
why not 8000? Will you help and share this eNewsletter with at
least one friend in Christ, today, now? Share with them how
different your life has become since focusing on the Word, daily.

Then encourage them to join us at Presentation Ministries for
the weekly eNewsletter and the daily readings and reflections
of One Bread One Body.

May God continue to bless you and all you care for.

YBIC eNewsEditor@presentationministries.com

P.S. As of 9-Feb-2008, I have received requests for 42 sample
eNewsletters. Thats a good start. Praise Jesus!

February 10th, the first Sunday of Lent.

Jesus, this week the church gives us the feast day of the other
guide that we should love and honor, and that is Mary our mother.

This week we celebrate the feast of our Lady of Lourdes.

Oh! Christ, as always Mary is reaching out to show us the way,
and also to be the light that shines brightly, so that we can find
You through her love and intercession.

Jesus, thank You for giving us Mary, thank You for naming her
the mother of all children, and thank You for having her
conceived filled with grace.

Jesus, Mary is the highest honor of Your people, and the lover
that never gives up on bringing her children into the heavenly
kingdom.

She is the hound dog of heaven, who never gives up on any of
the wayward ones.

She is constantly appearing to us, to get us to let go and let
You be Lord of our lives.

She intercedes before You, the triune God, in the throne room
of heaven, and she is the example of trusting You, that we all
need to make our own. Amen and Amen.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday LENT AND SATAN

http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=2/10/2008

"Jesus was led into the desert by the Spirit to be tempted by
the devil." —Matthew 4:1

At the first Lent, Jesus routed Satan by overcoming three
temptations. In the final three years of His life, Jesus
continued His total mastery of the devil. He healed "all who
were in the grip of the devil" (Acts 10:38) and destroyed "the
devil's works" (1 Jn 3:8). Finally, Jesus totally and definitively
conquered the evil one when He hung three hours on the
cross, died in perfect love, and rose from the dead on the
third day.

When Jesus fasted for forty days in the desert, He won one
of His major victories over Satan. As we imitate Jesus' forty-day
fast this Lent, we also can claim a major victory over Satan, all
his works, and all his empty promises. We can break out of
sins which have plagued us for years. We can demolish
Satan's strongholds, sophistries, and pretenses (2 Cor 10:4-5).
In Christ, we can triumph over Satan and his demons, lead
them off captive, and make "a public show" of them (Col 2:15).

This Lent we are called to resist the devil, attack the gates of
hell (Mt 16:18), and force Satan to flee (Jas 4:7). Repent!
Obey! Charge!

Monday LOVING THOSE WHO HURT YOU

countrymen. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am
the Lord." —Leviticus 19:18

"For if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord, and
believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you
will be saved." —Romans 10:9

The purpose of life is to develop a deep, personal relationship
with Jesus and love Him with all our hearts (Lk 10:27). But no
matter how long we "hang around" Jesus by engaging in
religious and humanitarian activities, we will never truly know
Him until we totally surrender to Him (see Jn 14:9). We must
be baptized into Jesus (Rm 6:3), that is, immersed in Him.
We must decide to live for Him and not for ourselves
(2 Cor 5:15), to do His will and not our own. We must say
with Paul: "I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no
longer I that live but Christ Who lives in me. I still live my
human life, but it is a life of faith in the Son of God Who loved
me and gave Himself for me" (Gal 2:19-20, our transl).

Pope Benedict XVI

True joy is only found in God, the Pope says as Lent begins

http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/new.php?n=11705

Vatican City, Feb 6, 2008 / 11:33 am (CNA).- Pope Benedict
marked the beginning of the Lenten season today by
speaking about Ash Wednesday and calling Catholics
"to return to God… to discover authentic freedom and joy."

"Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of our annual Lenten
journey of prayer and penance. In the early Church, Lent was
the time when catechumens prepared for Baptism,
accompanied by the prayers of the whole Christian
community," Pope Benedict said.

Speaking to the crowds of faithful in the Paul the VI Hall, the
Holy Father continued by saying that it is only God alone who
can satisfy our deepest longing for Lenten spiritual renewal.

"Today, too, the Lenten season is a privileged moment of .......

Pope Benedict XVI, Shepherd of Truth

Notable quotations from Pope Benedict XVI and official
teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

THE FAMILY AND PEACE

PEACE, JUSTICE AND LOVE

.. In a healthy family life we experience some of the
fundamental elements of peace: justice and love between
brothers and sisters, the role of authority expressed by
parents, loving concern for the members who are weaker
because of youth, sickness or old age, mutual help in the
necessities of life, readiness to accept others and, if
necessary, to forgive them.

"TEACHER OF PEACE"

.. The family is the first and indispensable teacher of peace.

2008 RETREATS

Feb 22 - 23
Living In Reality (held in Cincinnati Area)

Many people, even Christians, are not in touch with reality
because of sin and our secular humanistic culture. During this
retreat, we will focus on four basic timeless realities revealed
by Christ, then center on repentance and total commitment to
Jesus. The retreat will conclude with how to build a lifestyle in
the Spirit through family relationships.

Mar 15
Women's Retreat

As a woman, you are most precious to the Lord ~ come find
out more about receiving God's love and His deepest purpose
for your genuine femininity. "The dignity and the vocation of
women have gained exceptional prominence in recent years.
The hour is coming, in fact has come, when the vocation of
women is being acknowledged in its fullness, the hour in which
women acquire in the world an influence, an effect and a power
never hitherto achieved. That is why, at this moment when the
human race is undergoing so deep a transformation, women
imbued with a spirit of the Gospel can do so much to aid
humanity in not falling." – John Paul II, On the Dignity and
Vocation of Women
