God Bless you and all you care for.
The editor

Oct. 26th 30th Sunday in ordinary time

Lord God, we are all living in a very unusual time.

People are confused and looking for the answers in all
the places, but You.

Take our eyes and focus them on You.

Take our hearts and have them beat in union with Yours.

Take our desires and focus them on You and Your way.

Jesus, protect us, walk with us, and set us on the path
that leads to eternal life with You and the Father and
the Spirit.

Let us realize that You have a plan, and it will work out
perfectly as You want it to. Amen and Amen

Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday QUESTION BOX
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=10/26/2008

"When the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the
Sadducees, they assembled in a body; and one of them,
a lawyer, in an attempt to trip Him up, asked Him..." —Matthew 22:34-35

Jesus was asked what was the greatest commandment.
He answered not only by giving the greatest commandment
but also the first one, the second one, and the basis of the
whole law and of the prophets (Mt 22:38-40). When we ask
Jesus a question, we often get much more than we
bargained for. That's why we may feel afraid to ask Him
questions (Mk 9:32).

Jesus may be "too much" for us (Mk 6:3). He will give us
more than we can ever ask for or imagine (Eph 3:20). That
means we're not in control of everything. The Lord will be
Lord of our questions. In fact, He wants to be Lord of
everything, including our lives. At the name of Jesus, every
knee must bend (Phil 2:10).

Nonetheless, I challenge you to ask Jesus a question. Be
prepared to not be prepared and not be in control. Be
prepared to be loved and surprised, to repent and obey.

Jesus alone is the Answer. Therefore, when we ask Jesus
a question, we can expect something special. Go ahead;
dare to ask Jesus a question.

· Do You Renounce Satan?
http://presentationministries.com/brochures/RenounceSatan.asp

"Therefore submit to God; resist the devil and he will take
flight." —James 4:7

Satan is real. He is a fallen angel (Rv 12:7ff) bent on
seducing us, destroying us, and leading us to hell.
Although we humans are very weak and stupid compared
to Satan, we have authority over him by the power of
Jesus (see Mt 10:1). In fact, Jesus has already
irreversibly defeated Satan. "The strife is o'er, the battle
done." All that remains is to place Jesus' enemies
beneath His feet (Heb 10:13).

How could we ever lose a war we've already won? The
devil's only hope is to confuse us so much that we don't
know that he exists, that a war is going on, that he is
the enemy, and that Jesus has already won. It seems
impossible to convince anyone that they've lost after
they've already won. But the devil is a master-liar (Jn 8:44).
The following twenty questions and answers will help
dispel many of his confusions by exposing them to the
light of God's truth.

I am requesting prayer for my husband of almost 10 years,
James. He exhibits very unstable emotions, poor judgement,
and irrespnsibility, and this has wreaked havoc on our
marriage and finances. I am ready to divorce him but, as
we have 2 small children, I am asking God for one last
miracle, that He will change his heart and convert him to
righteousness and even to catholicism.

Pope Benedict XVI, Shepherd of Truth

Notable quotations from Pope Benedict XVI and official
teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

ST. PAUL, MISSION AND MIGRANTS

"PROCLAIMED TO ALL"

Guided by the Holy Spirit, he [St, Paul] spared no effort to
see that the Gospel ... was proclaimed to all, making no
distinction of nationality or culture.

"A SINGLE PEOPLE" IN JESUS

His [St. Paul] life and his preaching were wholly directed
to making Jesus known and loved by all, for all persons
are called to become a single people in Him.

WE HAVE THE SAME MISSION

This is the mission of the Church and of every baptized
person in our time too... a mission that with attentive
pastoral solicitude is also directed to the variegated
universe of migrants-- students far from home, immigrants,
refugees, displaced persons, evacuees-- including for
example, the victims of modern forms of slavery, and of
human trafficking.
