This week, Jesus, Your church celebrates the "martyrdom of St. John the baptist", the last of the prophets.
He was beheaded by Herod to please his wife's daughter because of a dance she did at his
birthday celebration.
Jesus, John was on a mission to herald You to all the jews.
Help us to herald You to all who are in our lives.
Help us to show others Your love, by our actions to others.
Thank You Jesus for the examples of trust You give us.
Amen and Amen.
Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

Sunday SUPER DUPER

"You duped me, O Lord, and I let myself be duped." -Jeremiah 20:7
God doesn't really dupe us. It just seems that way because we think not as God does, but as men do (Mt 16:23). Instead of duping us, the Lord has higher purposes.
He surprises us because He knows if He told us in advance, we couldn't bear it (Jn 16:12).
He tests us so we might grow and bear fruit (1 Thes 2:4). But along with the test, He strengthens and rescues us (1 Cor 10:13).
He calls us to serve Him, often before we're ready. God considers it "formation"; we consider it
"being duped" (see Jer 20:7)
We're in a spiritual desert, and naturally consider it a dry period. Meanwhile, He woos us with
desert love (Hos 2:16).
No, God doesn't deceive us. Jesus tells us right up front that if we are to be His disciple, we must deny our very self, take up our cross each and every day, and follow the same path to Calvary as He did (Lk 9:23). He doesn't even promise us a bed! (Lk 9:58) Yet Jesus promises us life to the full (Jn 10:10) and His very own joy (Jn 15:11).
The one who does the duping is Satan, with all his lies and empty promises. God's callings are
accompanied by the best promises, those that always come true (Jos 23:14). Let yourself be
"duped" - in the sense that you give the Holy Spirit permission to do far more than you could
ask for or imagine (Eph 3:20).

Please pray for me to to forgive my vicious daughter who uses me to babysit, abuses husband
& i verbally,walks all over us any chance she gets. we are disabled, poor (she lives with rich
friends our age) and now is influencing our beloved grandson. her anger affects him-he picks
up on her emotions and refused to kiss me good bye today. he only acts this way when his
mom is here. lord only you can change her heart as well. you ask we pray for our enemies-she
acts like an enemy. we spoiled her (learned the hard way). we have to rely on her to use her car
to go shopping,laundry,drs. but we watch our grandson free at a moment's notice all the time
and raised him the first 2 yrs. of his life until 'the fight' where she placed him in daycare.my
anger overwhelms me-i wish she would die i am so enraged at times. i need the lord to help me
let go as she is not worth being angry over.

Please pray for the marriage of my son. I ask that Andrew and Victoria open their hearts and
allow God to heal them. That Victoria be healed of her anger and hardened heart. That she

Local Numbers Double Practically Overnight!
The Bible Telephone Line (BTL) has been in operation for 19 years. Begun by Fr. Al
in 1991, it now continues with three teachers trained by him and by Presentation
Ministries. In cities where local numbers have been established, the BTL provides
callers with a short teaching on the readings for the daily Mass. It is available 24
hours a day and 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a short prayer request which
will be shared on the line with the other callers the next day.
