DEEP-SEA DUMPING

"The herd of about two thousand [swine] went rushing down the bluff into the lake, where they began to drown." -Mark 5:13

Jesus takes away the sins of the world (Jn 1:29). When He takes them away, He "will cast into the depths of the sea all our sins" (Mi 7:19).

Jesus takes away your sins and dumps them into the ocean. Those sins fall thousands of feet to the depths of the sea, to remain there forever. No one can retrieve them. They are gone forever, and you are free. In case you should even want to get those sins back and return to your old sinful lifestyle (see Lk 5:39), Jesus has placed a sign on the seashore that says "No fishing!"

Repent of all your sins. Confess them to the Lord and let Him take them away (Ps 32:5; Heb 12:1). Do not try to get your sins back. Let them stay at the bottom of the sea. When the Son has set you free of sin, you are free indeed! (Jn 8:36)

Prayer: Father, thank You forever for loving me so much that You sent Your only Son so that I may be forgiven, saved, and set free to live the holy, joyful, and obedient life of a disciple.

Promise: "God had made a better plan, a plan which included us." -Heb 11:40

Praise: After fifteen years away from the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Melanie repented, made a complete Confession, and now is a member of a healing ministry.
