December 16th, 2007 the third Sunday of Advent.

( Last weeks opening prayer ended with "Next week Lord,
I'm going to ask you to show us how to prepare the gift and
how to wrap it up for You. Thank You Jesus for Your love and
constant mercy.)

If we have prayed and asked, and You have shown us what
we are to give You, now is the time for us to start to prepare
how to do that.

First, we have to be willing, that is the tissue paper to place
around the gift.

Then we need to go to confession, and confess that sin, and
that becomes the box that we are going to put the present in.

Coming to adoration, and sitting with You for an hour, is the
gift wrap that we will put on the outside of the box to make it
more beautiful.

Then extra going to mass, and communion during the week
is the bow and ribbon.

If we do this we have gained so much more than we are giving.

We have gained the privledge to have sat with You, then the
privledge of receiving Your most precious Body and Blood,
filling us with the peace to really let go and let You be the
Lord of our lives.

Jesus, grace us to start a new era of time.

Let this be the era of the time of You.

Let us really see the love that You have for us, and the care
in which You protect and guide us.

Let this Christmas really be a new beginning is this journey
of life. Amen and Amen.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body

This weeks readings and reflections

Sunday COMING UP ROSES

http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=12/16/2007

"They will meet with joy and gladness, sorrow and mourning
will flee." —Isaiah 35:10

In the Catholic community, we call today "Gaudete Sunday,"
meaning "Rejoice Sunday." We rejoice because the Lord's
Christmas coming is near. Our priests wear rose vestments
today to express our exuberant joy. We are flushed with joy
because the world's dire circumstances are overshadowed by
God's presence. In the shadow of His wings, we shout for joy
(Ps 63:8). We rejoice not in the circumstances but in the
Lord of the circumstances (Phil 4:4). We rejoice because
God is with us (Is 7:14; Mt 1:23).

Jesus is the same today as yesterday (Heb 13:8). "The blind
recover their sight, cripples walk, lepers are cured, the deaf
hear, dead men are raised to life, and the poor have the good
news preached to them" (Mt 11:5). "Despite the increase of
sin, grace has far surpassed it" (Rm 5:20). Therefore, "be
patient," my brothers and sisters, "until the coming of the
Lord" (Jas 5:7). "You may for a time have to suffer the
distress of many trials; but this is so that your faith, which
is more precious than the passing splendor of fire-tried gold,
may by its genuineness lead to praise, glory, and honor when
Jesus Christ appears" (1 Pt 1:6-7).

Monday MEET YOUR FOLKS

http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=12/17/2007

"Listen to Israel, your father." —Genesis 49:2

Tuesday THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE

http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=12/18/2007

"Joseph her husband, an upright man unwilling to expose her
to the law, decided to divorce her quietly." —Matthew 1:19

Pope Benedict XVI

Wednesday General Audience
Communion is the key to the mystery of the Church,
teaches the Holy Father

http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/new.php?n=11246

Vatican City, Dec 12, 2007 / 10:20 am (CNA).- As the faithful
listened to Pope Benedict's next installment in his series of
teachings on the saints of the early Church today, they heard
about St. Paulinus of Nola. This saint, the Pope said, teaches
Christians about the Church as "a sacrament of intimate union
with God and of the unity of the whole human race."

Hailing from Italy, St. Paulinus rose to become the governor of
the Campania region in southern Italy at a young age. In that
role he stood out for his wisdom and humility, while his
contact with "the simple and intense faith" of the people
marked the start of his own path to conversion, which was
not without difficulties and trials," the Holy Father related.

"The meeting with Christ was the finishing point of an arduous
journey," during which a series of .............

Pope Benedict XVI, Shepherd of Truth
Notable quotations from Pope Benedict XVI and official
teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

THE EUCHARIST AND WITNESS

NOT GIVEN ENOUGH

The more ardent the love for the Eucharist is in the hearts of
the Christian people, the more clearly will they recognize the
goal of all mission: to bring Christ to others... Anyone who has
not shared the truth of love with his brothers and sisters has
not yet given enough.(86)

"CONVINCING WITNESSES"

The Christian laity ... should cultivate a desire that the
Eucharist have an ever deeper effect on their daily lives,
making them convincing witnesses in the workplace and in
society at large. (79)
