January 18th Second Sunday in ordinary time
Jesus, help us to truly realize, that in You, there is no ordinary time.
Everyday, Lord, is a gift, and a call.
A gift, Lord, that says we are loved, and a call that motivates us to
help others.
Jesus, let us not feel ordinary, but feel as we really are, special in You.
Lord Jesus, let us see that not only are we special, but all people are
special, and deserve our help and love.
Lord, let our light shine in the midst of all the turmoil, and let us be
examples of steady rock in trusting You.
Father, let our homes be filled with Your peace, and let us truly be at
peace in our hearts.
Jesus, let us help lift the darkness for those who have no peace.
Amen and Amen.
Thank you Lord, for loving us totally.

Sunday GOD CALLING

"Here I am. You called me." -1 Samuel 3:5
The Lord starts this new year by calling us as He called Samuel,
Andrew, and Simon Peter. He is calling us to join Him:
not in a superficial way, but to love Him with all our hearts (Mt 22:37),
in a Christian community of the others whom He has called, and in
waking up and renewing a sleeping Church (see 1 Sm 3:2-3).
We must accept all three aspects of the Lord's call, or we have rejected
His call. Some say they've given their lives to Jesus, but are not
willing to share their lives with other members of Christ's body, the
Church. Others are working in parish renewal but are still compromised
with the world and not totally living for Jesus. Christ's call is
three-fold - to accept Him, to accept true community life in His body,
the Church, and to accept responsibility to help renew this broken body.
Jesus is turning around, noticing us following Him, and asking us: "What
are you looking for?" (Jn 1:38) Our answers should be: "We're looking
for a total commitment to You, community life in Your Church, and renewal
for Your Church." Then Jesus says: "Come and see" (Jn 1:39).
Prayer: Father, "speak, for Your servant is listening" (1 Sm 3:10).
Promise: "You must know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit,
Who is within - the Spirit you have received from God. You are not your
own. You have been purchased, and at a price. So glorify God in your
body." -1 Cor 6:19-20
Praise: Praise Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life! (Jn 11:25) I will
sing Your praises for all eternity.

I have no anxiety at all, but in everything , by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, I make my requests known to God. I am asking for
Juan Jose Diaz, Erik, Jonathan, Hugo, My Mother and My Neighbor. I
ask to end war, torture, death penalty and assisted suicide. For
myself, I am asking for beauty of holiness holy virgin cloths extreme
make over not tomorrow but today. Philippians 4:6

Father, I've been blessed by never having been attacked by demonic
episodes. I pray I never am but I do want to pray for those that are.
I will immediately pray the Lords Prayer when finished here. Please
help me Father with this depression and need of financial help. I
need surgeries and glasses and so much more but it's always the money
holding me back. I also want to thank You for keeping my Grandson
safe and letting all go smoothly yesterday. I believe in You my
Father and I do believe in the power of prayer. I love You Father. In
Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Local Numbers Double Practically Overnight!
The Bible Telephone Line (BTL) has been in operation for 19 years. Begun by Fr. Al
in 1991, it now continues with three teachers trained by him and by Presentation
Ministries. In cities where local numbers have been established, the BTL provides
callers with a short teaching on the readings for the daily Mass. It is available 24
hours a day and 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a short prayer request which
will be shared on the line with the other callers the next day.

BUILDING PEACE
THE ROAD TO PEACE
The ... road to peace ... is to see others not as enemies to be opposed
but as brothers and sisters to be embraced. This entails an ongoing
process which may never be considered fully completed.

Building peace calls for giving priority to actions which generate new
processes in society and engage other persons and groups who can then
develop them to the point where they bear fruit in significant
historical events.
