December 9th, 2nd Sunday of Advent
This week, oh! Christ, Your church celebrates another great feast of Your mother and ours.
The feast of "Our Lady of Guadalupe", is important because it shows Mary's care for the down
trodden people.
She appeared to Juan Diego and gave him a message of love.
And so we thank You, Jesus, for Your mother and her loving care.
Jesus, continue to prepare us to give You the Christmas present You want us to give You.
And help us to know what that is.
Amen and Amen.
Thank You Lord, for loving us totally.

Sunday GORGED?

"For God has commanded that every lofty mountain be made low, and that the age-old depths and gorges
be filled to level ground, that Israel may advance secure in the glory of God." -Baruch 5:7
We are walking a path through the millennia to our heavenly home. Our path is obstructed by rough,
winding, mountainous terrain (Lk 3:5; see also Mt 7:14). Possibly the most difficult obstacles we face
are "age-old depths and gorges" (Bar 5:7). "Age-old depths" have become very deep, and the drop-offs
are steep. It is usually impossible to walk down or walk up a gorge. Climbing down or up a gorge is so
dangerous that the climbers risk their lives.
Spiritually speaking, "age-old depths and gorges" may be strongholds, sophistries, and proud
pretensions which raise themselves in opposition to Jesus (see 2 Cor 10:4-5). "Depths and gorges" may
be the sinful habits etched into our lives (see Col 3:7).
To fill in these gorges of sinfulness and thus be able to continue our journey home, we must repent,
deny ourselves, and lose our sinful lives (Lk 9:23-24). When we celebrate the Sacrament of
Reconciliation, the Lord will peel off layer after layer of blinding sinfulness, and gorges which
naturally become worse obstacles will be supernaturally filled and miraculously disappear.
Make one of your Advent Confessions as soon as possible. Make the treacherous ravines and "grand
canyons" of your life passable. Come home.
Prayer: Father, make our love "more and more abound, both in understanding and wealth of experience,
so that with a clear conscience and blameless conduct" we "may learn to value the things that really
matter, up to the very day of Christ" (Phil 1:9-10).
Promise: "It is my wish that you may be found rich in the harvest of justice which Jesus Christ has
ripened in you, to the glory and praise of God." -Phil 1:11
Praise: Jesus is risen and coming again! Alleluia. Come, Lord Jesus!

angels and saints and family souls in purgatory please pray for us.

I suffered stroke on 15th July, 2017. I need prayers for complete healing. My University has
withheld my first degree certificate for up to two decades without offering any reason. I need
prayers for my complete healing and the release of my certificate to enable get a better job, in
Jesus name. Amen!

Bible Telephone Line
The Bible Telephone Line (BTL) has been in operation for 27 years. Begun by Fr. Al in 1991, it now
continues with one deacon of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and two lay teachers trained by
Presentation Ministries. The BTL provides callers with a short teaching on the readings for the
daily Mass. It is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a short prayer
request which will be shared on the line with the other callers the next day on a separate line.

END HUNGER
"WE MUST DO BETTER"
We are all called to go further. We can and we must do better for the helpless. We must move to
concrete action, so that the scourge of hunger disappears completely.
WE CAN DO IT
We do indeed have the adequate means and framework so that beautiful words and good wishes may become
an action plan of substance that leads effectively to the eradication of hunger in our world. To this
end we need joint efforts, upright hearts, and persistent concern to firmly and resolutely make the
other's problems one's own.
"LACK OF POLITICAL WILL"
There is a fundamental lack of political will. What is needed is the willingness to end hunger, and
this ultimately will not happen without a moral conviction that is shared by all peoples and all
religious persuasions, where the integral good of the person is at the heart of all initiatives and
