October 6th 27th Sunday in ordinary time.
Jesus, in giving us Mary as our mother, You also gave us through her, a mighty source of power, the rosary.
Please, Jesus, give us the grace as we celebrate the feast of the "Our Lady of the Rosary" this week.
The real desire to glorify You by meditating on the mysteries of life and love.
The joyful, sorrowful, glorious and luminous rosaries give us Your life and the most outstanding moments of
Your actions, that get us all to the eternal life that was established permanently by Your death.
Help us all to say a rosary a day for all of our family members and for peace in our homes and the world.
Amen and Amen.

Sunday LIFE IN THE SPIRIT OR DEATH

"The Spirit God has given us is no cowardly spirit, but rather One That makes us strong, loving, and wise."
-2 Timothy 1:7
We live in a world of "destruction and violence," strife and "clamorous discord" (Hab 1:3). What are we to
do? "Write down the vision clearly upon the tablets, so that one can read it readily" (Hab 2:2). We receive
visions from the Holy Spirit (see Acts 2:17).
We must not only have a vision and be able to express it, but we must also see the vision fulfilled (Hab 2:3).
We do this by faith (see Hab 2:4). Faith is both a gift (1 Cor 12:9) and a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:22).
The prophet Zechariah proclaimed: "Not by an army, nor by might, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts"
(Zec 4:6). Only by the Holy Spirit can we defeat the evil spirits and see God's plan fulfilled for our lives.
When we pray the Creed, we call the Holy Spirit "the Lord, the Giver of life." The Holy Spirit is necessary
for life. To quench the Spirit (1 Thes 5:19) is to begin to die. We need the Holy Spirit to be as active as
possible in our lives.
Thus, we must renew our Baptisms at which we received the Holy Spirit. We must also renew our Confirmations
when we received a new Pentecost and the fullness of the Holy Spirit. We should "stir into flame" the power
and love and self-control which comes from the Holy Spirit (2 Tm 1:6, 7). Come, Holy Spirit! Baptize me,
immerse me into You (see Mt 28:19).
Prayer: Father, may I not grieve the Holy Spirit in any way (Eph 4:30).
Promise: "The vision still has its time, presses on to fulfillment, and will not disappoint; if it delays,
wait for it, it will surely come." -Hab 2:3
Praise: Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ, King of endless glory! All creation exults in Your merciful love.

I have never been in trouble before well not with the law. I was in a fender bender back in March and
failed to complete traffic school by the due date. Please pray for me that the judge will be kind and

will cure my husband of his back injury and leg pain/restless leg. PLEASE keep promises over my husband.

my husband. Please reach down and surround my husband with peace and strength and give him the faith to

Bible Telephone Line
The Bible Telephone Line (BTL) has been in operation for 28 years. Begun by Fr. Al in 1991, it now
continues with one deacon of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and two lay teachers trained by
Presentation Ministries. The BTL provides callers with a short teaching on the readings for the
daily Mass. It is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a short prayer
request which will be shared on the line with the other callers the next day on a separate line.

DON'T BE INDIFFERENT
... These are some reflections I wish to share with those men and women who do not allow themselves to
succumb to indifference; who hear the cry of those who do not have the minimum needed to lead a dignified
life.

For her part, the Catholic Church, in the exercise of the mission with which her divine Founder has
entrusted her, struggles daily throughout the world against hunger and malnutrition in multiple ways and
through her various structures and associations, remembering that those who suffer from misery are not
different from us. They share our flesh and blood. They deserve ... a friendly hand to help and support
them, in such a way that no one is left behind, so that in our world fraternal solidarity may boast its
own identity card and citizenship, beyond any flashy slogans void of substance.

The annual celebration of World Food Day emphasizes ... the needs, yearnings and hopes of millions of
persons who lack bread each day. Increasingly, there are more people who sadly make up part of that great
number of human beings who have nothing, or almost nothing to eat. It should be the opposite and yet
recent statistics are a painful proof of how international solidarity appears to be cooling.
