October 27th 30th Sunday in ordinary time.
Jesus, it is good for us to pray for all those who have died and gone before us.
Give us the inspiration to pray especially for those in purgatory who have no one to pray for them.
Let us be aware that those in purgatory depend on us to get them into the glory of heaven through our
prayers, masses, and the charitable acts that we do for their release.
Jesus, continue to grace us to understand that our brothers and sisters who have gone before us have
changed into eternal beings that are now in the communion of saints forever and ever.
Amen and Amen.
Thank You Lord, for loving us totally.

Sunday "LOW," I AM WITH YOU

"The prayer of the lowly pierces the clouds." -Sirach 35:17
Clouds can be a sign of God's presence or, figuratively speaking, a barrier preventing us from "getting
through" to God. Clouds present no problem to the prayer of the lowly, for their prayer pierces the clouds.
We can surmise that the prayer of many people is not "getting through" to God, for many people pray
infrequently. If they were "getting through," they probably would be encouraged to pray always (see Lk 18:1).
Who wants to keep calling a phone number when you seldom "get through"? Many of us must not be lowly, or we
would be "getting through" and praying more.
Signs of not being lowly are:
* not forgiving (see Mt 6:15),
* not going to Confession often,
* not submitting to the authority of the Lord through the Church (see Heb 13:17),
* focusing on ourselves (see Lk 18:11-12),
* comparing ourselves with others (see Lk 18:11),
* not washing others' feet through service (see Jn 13:14-15), and
* trying to live the "high life" of affluence and comfort.
Jesus is lowly - from the stable at Bethlehem to the cross on Calvary to appearing as bread and wine in the
Eucharist. Be like the lowly Jesus, and your prayer will pierce the clouds.
Prayer: Jesus, gentle and lowly of heart, make my heart like Yours (see Mt 11:29).
Promise: "The Lord will continue to rescue me from all attempts to do me harm and will bring me safe to His
heavenly kingdom." -2 Tm 4:18
Praise: "This is the Jesus God has raised up, and we are his witnesses" (Acts 2:32). Alleluia!

Thank you Lord for sending your healing touch to San so she will be relieved of back pain and able to take
the long road trip. Thank you that you are sustaining BG mentally physically spiritually during first

cure my husband of his back injury and leg pain/restless leg. PLEASE keep promises over my husband. I
believe in the healing power of faith and prayer and I ask You to begin Your mighty work in the life of my
husband. Please reach down and surround my husband with peace and strength and give him the faith to believe
that all things are possible for you. Protect him from discouragement and let his healing begin. I ask this
trough Christ our Lord. Please, hear my prayer and the prayers of all Your faithful and in Your divine mercy

Bible Telephone Line
The Bible Telephone Line (BTL) has been in operation for 28 years. Begun by Fr. Al in 1991, it now
continues with one deacon of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and two lay teachers trained by
Presentation Ministries. The BTL provides callers with a short teaching on the readings for the
daily Mass. It is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a short prayer
request which will be shared on the line with the other callers the next day on a separate line.

"HOPES OF MILLIONS"
The annual celebration of World Food Day emphasizes ... the needs, yearnings and hopes of millions of
persons who lack bread each day. Increasingly, there are more people who sadly make up part of that great
number of human beings who have nothing, or almost nothing to eat. It should be the opposite and yet
recent statistics are a painful proof of how international solidarity appears to be cooling.
"EFFECTIVE HELP"
The poor expect from us an effective help that takes them out of their misery... In this twenty-first
century that has seen considerable advances in the field of technology, science, communications and
infrastructure, we ought to feel shame for not having achieved the same advances in humanity and
solidarity, and so satisfy the primary needs of the most disadvantaged.
"WE MUST DO BETTER"
We are all called to go further. We can and we must do better for the helpless. We must move to concrete
action, so that the scourge of hunger disappears completely.
