January 6th, the epiphany of the Lord
Oh Jesus, as we celebrate the manifestation of You to all
the world, let us be in awe of Your presense.
You, Christ, become like us in all things but sin, and You
came so that we might have eternal life, through Your
sacrifice on the cross.
Let us all make the effort to carry our crosses of life with
knowledge that You are with us, and walking with us every
step of the way.
Jesus, let us all freely give of ourselves to others that they
may also become full bearers of the gift of eternal happines
forever in heaven.
Let us radiate Your presense by being present to all
those in our lives.
Let us be living examples of the Christ among us.
Let us joyfully come before You this week, and give You
ourselves in thought, word and action.
Let us be excited that You are here with us, the "Word
Made Flesh" and dwelling truly among us.
Thank You, Jesus. Amen and Amen.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for loving us totally.

One Bread, One Body
This weeks readings and reflections
Sunday BE AN EPIPHANY
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=1/6/2008
"Rise up in splendor! Your light has come, the glory of the
Lord shines upon you." —Isaiah 60:1
We, as the Church, exist to evangelize (On Evangelization,
Pope Paul VI, 14). Therefore, this solemn celebration of the
Epiphany proclaims the meaning of our lives; to take the gospel
"even to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8). This makes Epiphany
the most important day of the Christmas season. "See,
darkness covers the earth, and thick clouds cover the peoples;
but upon you the Lord shines, and over you appears His glory" (Is 60:2).
Therefore, "rise up in splendor!" (Is 60:1) Be a witness for
Jesus. Spread the good news to the ends of the earth.
"Nations shall walk by your light, and kings by your shining
radiance. Raise your eyes and look about" (Is 60:3-4). May
your heart be moved with pity, for billions of people are "lying
prostrate from exhaustion, like sheep without a shepherd"
(Mt 9:36). "Beg the Harvest Master to send out laborers to
gather His harvest" (Mt 9:38). By God's grace, answer your
own prayer. Make your life an epiphany, a manifestation of
Jesus' saving death and resurrection to the nations. "Then you
shall be radiant at what you see, your heart shall throb and
overflow" (Is 60:5). All nations shall come, "proclaiming the
praises of the Lord" (Is 60:6). Happy Epiphany! Be an epiphany.
Alleluia!
Monday "THE LIFE OF THE PARTY"
http://presentationministries.com/obob/obob.asp?d=1/7/2008
"A people living in darkness has seen a great light. On those
who inhabit a land overshadowed by death, light has arisen."
—Matthew 4:16

teach them at great length." —Mark 6:34

MARY—WHO IS SHE IN GOD'S PLAN?
"When the designated time had come, God sent forth His
Son born of a woman." —Galatians 4:4
Catholics and the Orthodox maintain Mary is the most
important human being in God's plan, except for her Son,
the God-Man, Jesus. Others think that by honoring Mary we
take away from the worship of Jesus. However, Catholics
and the Orthodox say Mary will lead a person to Jesus, just
as all good Christians try to lead their friends to the Lord.
After all, Mary's last recorded words in the Bible were: "Do
whatever He (Jesus) tells you" (Jn 2:5). What is Mary's part
in God's plan? Does she mother, minister, and intercede today?

Pope Benedict XVI, Shepherd of Truth
Notable quotations from Pope Benedict XVI and official
teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
CHRISTIAN HOPE
"SPURRED ON BY HOPE"
[God's] love alone gives us the possibility of soberly
persevering day by day, without ceasing to be spurred on
by hope, in a world which by its very nature is imperfect. (31)
PRAYER AND HOPE
A first essential setting for learning hope is prayer. When
no one listens to me any more, God still listens to me. (32)
